All of your nope? Like, literally impossible to nope harder?
As in, if they suddenly grew giant spider legs and invaded the land you'd still be at the same level of nope, if not less?

in due consideration of your nice little phantasy, i would like to correct my nope to a 3/10 level

well it looks like it can't see anything (it's probably ******* deep underwater and very dark)...

... meaning that when it bumps into something, its first reaction is to try to eat it.
what if it bumps into a rock?
User avatar #39 to #32 - nigeltheoutlaw (09/30/2013) [-]
It's most likely not anywhere near the bottom of the ocean so it'd be highly unlikely for it to bump into any rocks.
User avatar #40 to #39 - crazycowhimself (10/01/2013) [-]
but still.. i may be wrong, I my guess is that it swims around in complete darkness, and its natural reflex when hitting something is to just try to eat it, without knowing what it is...

seems a bit silly imo

It's actually an excellent evolutionary adaptation for its environment. Food at those depths is extremely rare so it doesn't have the energy to spare for seeking prey, and it has no lures like an angler fish to attract it, so it waits for prey to wander by it and it eats it. Many organisms utilize this strategy and it's very effective.

I am actually just waiting for the first person to suggest something about BJ's or the possibility thereof on this one. Actually mildly impressed with FJ that it hasn't happened yet. Perhaps there is some hope for us after all.

This was a video shown by my Comparative Chordate Morphology Professor at University. It demonstrates the fish's suction feeding capabilities. This is a radical example though, as most fish don't extend this far.

Good gosh I love my Morphology class..
