It's pretty suspicious that the video was pushed around as "10 hours walking in New York City as a woman" when the video is a minute and a half long. That's .3% of the content you recorded.

Well, they really only need people's reactions. It's a bugger and a half to make them sit through extended periods of time just watching her walk and having nothing happening. Maybe they didn't have 5-10 minutes worth of material. Maybe they only put out what they thought were the best responses. You're right, they only needed people's reactions. The fact that 10 hours of walking only netted a minute and a half worth of reactions. There are only 2 conclusions to draw here.

1. There were more reactions that didn't make the video, and she cherry picked them in order to make the problem seem worse than it is.

2. All she got for 10 hours of walking is a minute and a half of catcallers, showing how the problem is nowhere near as bad as she is trying to portray.

Either scenario requires her to misrepresent or misconstrue what actually happened to fit her narrative.

Well, cat calling is an unacceptable behavior anyway. In essence, it shouldn't matter how long the video is. The reason why you perceive it as less of an problem is because you're equating the severity of the problem to the length of the video when in reality it's already an issue in and of itself.

It does matter how long the video is. The severity of the problem is directly dependent on how pervasive it is in society. She is trying to make the point that it is a severe problem because catcalling is very pervasive. A minute and a half out of 10 hours is not pervasive, thus the problem is not severe.

What's more important is the amount of cat calling that happened. It takes only a few seconds to say something pervereted and in the video, they show a decent amout of people doing it. Plus, at the end of the video, they said there 100+ instances of cat calling. They didn't need to show everything to get their point across.

They absolutely do need to show everything. She is making these claims, there is no sense in not adding all evidence that supports her claim. Unless of course, there is no more evidence than what she showed, and she's lying about there being 100+ more incidents.

I think it's just typical of Americans to be this outward. I'm Danish, but I've been to the states 3 times (NYC, the southwest + LA and New England). It's a real culture shock seeing as everybody talk to you and addresses you on the street - especially seeing as I come from a country where you don't even sit next to a person on the bus. Except for the creep who walked alongside her for a while, I can honestly say I've heard pretty much the same things she experienced.

So I don't think gender has anything to do with it, I just think it's American culture to interact in public spaces like that.

Scandinavians have a pretty cool attitude towards most things, which I think goes back to the concept of "hygge".

The nightlife depends: I'm more of a pub guy, so if you wanna go clubbing I can't be of much help. Like with every country, I suggest you go with your friend and let him/her show you.

If you're trying to say that there are always bad apples in every group of people, then, yes you're kinda right.

People mostly dislike immigrants in my country because of their abnormally low employment rates and high crime rates.Thus the negative views towards people like that.

I don't know if you understand what the word "generalize" means, but it means to group all of group with a few traits, usually called "stereotypes". These traits usually don't apply to more than a select minority of that group, but doing this has kept our human species alive for this long. Funnyjunk is simply doing what every group since the beginning of time has been doing, generalizing. You seem to think we are the only ones who do this, because you don't go anywhere else, because if you did, you would see it occurring.

Did you guys see the stupid beer commercial. "Nobody listens to girls when they want a beer."

The entire video was basically this (Like how the content said, except no walking. They were just in a retuarant ordering drinks.). It doesn't matter the gender at all. Waiters will mess up sometimes. I got coke, when I asked for Dr. Pepper and my little brother was the one that wanted coke. They only took clips when waiters messed up and was just like, "No one listens to women." ******* retarded.
