it's fan content that's already crossing comic companies. no one gives a **** about cannon, hell dead pool himself doesn't even care about cannon

cannon = a weapon that fires big balls or other projectiles
canon = dogma or regulation of a church or a specific lore

thus canon =/= cannon (even though the two words look similar)

Yes, because kids could handle watching shows like this without becoming nutcases. My parents taught me right from wrong at a young age and now I play all sorts of violent video games and have never thought about recreating them. I grew up on war movies and violent anime and saturday morning cartoons that had blood violence and death. I grew up just fine. Hell, I used to watch tom and jerry with my niece, she grew up fine.

Yes, it IS for kids. I'm all for protecting their "world is great" mentality for a time, but I also want them as they get older to watch shows like this. As their childhood progresses, they will slowly begin to learn that the world is not such a wonderful place. People curse, people fight, and people die. When they're older, they'll look back on shows like this and be thankful that they were eased into reality instead of having their happy view of the world shattered by, for example, a bully, someone's death, war, etc. My children will learn to adapt to the world around them. You can't throw a fish on land and expect it to walk when all of its life swimming was the only form of movement it knew.

I thumbed mainly because of Firefly

But yeah, I agree with you

The sucky thing is, whenever you try to hold a steady conversation with a person about these cartoons, they think you're a loser or immature, when in reality, I just prefer animation to live action as you could do more things with it, such as have someone die and make it look real

Except for Firefly, as it is god

And then there's the **** of Superman and Wonder Woman being more than super friends, Then the Catwoman Comic from 2011, where:
1: The first two pages look like a set up for Bad Porn
2: the ending is Just Batman And Catwoman going at it, WITH FULL ******* PENETRATION!

Although, some of it isn't all bad, Green Arrow comics aren't complete **** and I'm liking the teen titans series, but other than that

Joker got bathed in a vat in chemicals that, on top of giving him a bleach job that makes Michael Jackson jealous and having leprachaun-tier hair, causes his perceptions to be extremely warped (Batman actually got hit by these same chemicals at one point during a comic and saw some **** that almost made him go insane before he was cured). At some point, he probably got in tune with how he was seeing things vs. how reality actually was, but everything that had gone on in his life like what #37 brought up left a permanent mark.
#37 to #30 - castial (10/13/2013) [-]
He was originally being an engineer at a chemical plant who quits his job to become a stand-up comedian, only to fail miserably. To support his pregnant wife, he agrees to help two criminals in a crime that goes wrong and sees him leap into a chemical vat when confronted by Batman. When he surfaces in a nearby reservoir and removes the hood, the chemicals are shown to have given him bleached chalk-white skin, ruby-red lips, and bright green hair. Coupled with the earlier accidental death of his wife and unborn child, the engineer goes insane and becomes the Joker

Joker is one of my favorite villains
#159 - latinotornado (10/14/2013) [-]
Dammit Batman Beyond is amazing. In my opinion he's my favorite Batman. HOWEVER, theres a lot of people I meet who think The Joker is the epitome of evil villains, like the most evil, sick son-of-a-bitch around. Well ya'll ****** gon learn today bout a crazy ********** called Madder Red. Madder Red is a character from an indy comic series called BEDLAM. Madder Red is basically a combination of The Joker and Dexter Morgan (maybe a lil bit of Sherlock in there as well). This ************ struck fear the hearts of thousands upon thousands of people residing in the fictional town known as Bedlam. Madder Red was basically a mass murderer/serial killer/attention whore. Allow me to explain what is happening in this lil comic strip I posted. Madder Red slaughtered every single person in a giant public theater (they're all the bodies you see behind Madder Red in the top panel), except for this little girl. The scene opens with everyone dead in the theater, and Madder Red is sitting in a chair across this little girl and they're playing a game of cards. The little girl is losing the card game, and also crying. Madder Red tells her to "quit being a cry baby" and then this scene ensues. And for those of you who want to see how the rest turns out, I will post the next couple strips in a reply to this.
#161 to #160 - latinotornado (10/14/2013) [-]
Now Bedlam's Superhero (The First is what he's called, and The First is a very archtypical style superhero. All for Justice and what not) finally shows up to stop Madder Red but is obviously too late
#162 to #161 - latinotornado (10/14/2013) [-]
Hope you guys liked this first little look at Bedlam. I ******* love the series, and if you have any questions feel free to ask!

User avatar #168 to #167 - latinotornado (10/14/2013) [-]
At your local comic store! if they happen to have them haha it's fairly new series. Or you can buy em on Ebay, or even download it online if you can find a link. I would try and find it online first

I was brought up on the Batman: Animated Series and Justice League as a kid so that has sentimental value, but I deeply respect and enjoy the comics too, so I would say DCAU, but still lovin' them comics
User avatar #57 to #55 - tallzed (10/14/2013) [-]
That is also why i like the DCAU. I also think that the DCAU has a better story. I have read maybe a few of the comics.
User avatar #58 to #57 - Ehwhat ONLINE (10/14/2013) [-]
I would say a better story, but frankly, the DCAU as a whole isn't a full story, but just the collection of those DC put together, very much like the comic universe.

******* love Justice League though for the full story there, that **** was cash.
