It's basically a virtual disk drive for mounting iso's (The format that most pirated games come in)

i don't see anything wrong... winrar is used for extracting the compressed files that you've pirated.

You are, sad to say.
When you download a pirated game it usuallly is in the form of a .iso file.
.iso files are basically digital versions of a disk. Not just the data on the disk but also the folder hierchy. Daemon tools lite basically takes that digital disk and puts it into a digital drive, essentially tricking the computer into thinking you inserted a disk into a disk drive. This process is called "Mounting"

I pirate all my games , except the ones that i know I'm into (basically anything made by valve or rockstar) after playing the pirated game for about an hour . If I'm having fun , or i like the story. or whatever , i simply go to steam and buy it. There piracy solved.

Windows 8 - no need for daemon tools.
To all the windows 8 haters.. it's actually really good and I like it better than 7. Deinstall apps, install startisback and you never have to see the metro UI.

Windows 8 user here, screw that startscreen/button. Windows button+x works way faster.

Wincdemu*
7zip*

There's a fair bit of controversy over uTorrent but it's still fine, just disable the ads.

Am i the only one that prefers clone drive over daemon tools?
User avatar #108 to #101 - lacypushupbra (10/02/2013) [-]
You're not alone

I feel the same way about my mounting software.

I used daemon tools once, isn't it's only function to simulate CD's/DVD's? that's all I did with it.
