You do know the original creator of megaman is really a new game right?

Are you talking about Mighty No. 9?
Because you ****** that sentence a bit.
User avatar #37 to #18 - codyxvasco (08/01/2014) [-]
Maybe the creator of megaman was actually a sentient game just trying to make a companion.
User avatar #19 to #18 - doit (08/01/2014) [-]
yeah my bad, im hearing a podcast while writing so it confused me, but yeah, its mighty 9

I understand that Mighty No 9 is going to be ******* awesome but this Legends 3 revival has been getting next to zero attention.
What supposedly killed Legends 3 in the first place and what's probably going to spell the death of the series is a lack of publicity. If people don't get talking about this project and do what they can to support it, Capcom may never realize the life Mega Man could still have.

I remember them having a small publicity on a free to play megaman game, i got hyped up for that and then lost interest. To be fair, the only megaman i played was the psp one ( maverick hunter or whatever?) but i played the **** out of it.
User avatar #23 to #22 - theseventhmirror ONLINE (08/01/2014) [-]
To my knowledge, Street Fighter x Mega Man was fan made but Capcom decided to promote it instead of shutting it down.
It's a start but I wouldn't call it new life in the series.
User avatar #27 to #25 - theseventhmirror ONLINE (08/01/2014) [-]
I don't think I heard about that one until after it was cancelled.
But again, that's the issue. Mega Man is probably the least advertised of the classic game series'. That may be because there hasn't been a new game in 5 years but I don't remember seeing much advertisement for Star Force.
User avatar #28 to #27 - doit (08/01/2014) [-]
I dont know why, megaman seems like such a good concept and is already established... Seems like it would be a sure thing...
User avatar #24 to #23 - doit (08/01/2014) [-]

I've heard people say that anime can be traced back all the way to the original Megaman animations, like it's what started it all

Travis the Moonstar
Weeb patrol here, time to shed some light.
Note that anime is foreign (in their language) for ANIMATION
They were wrong !

Anime CAN be traced back to Western culture, but not in the way you would expect. In 1910 there were propaganda films being produced in the Western civilizations and some of the Japs took notice and hopped on that bandwagon, producing some of their own.
During the 1950s and 60s there was the first popular anime Astro Boy (which may sound familiar to Mega Man, but was more influenced by Walt Disney in it's character design). In the 1980s during the initial boom of anime they tried to separate themselves from Western culture and produced anime like Gundam and Macross and made themselves some new genres.
I believe the artwork of anime is inspired by their culture.
EX: (Broad dramatization) While Westerners had thick lines the Japs had thin ones

well what I meant was the first animation thing in Japan

Propaganda films.

Like Old Walt Disney films but with more racism towards Westerners.
