Those 12 stars represent the 12 founding member states of European Union. Now it should be 26 of them I think...

17 TRILLION in debt, highest crime/ prisoner rate per capita in the world, Government spying on the people, no health care and low average IQ.

Yeah... I'm jealous. BWA HA HA HA
#20 to #18 - Rascal (12/10/2013) [-]
oh btw the only country with higher population having higher avg IQ is china, china has the same avg IQ as the UK. altho china is less diverse than US (or even UK)

better than having a society of sad alcoholics

17 trillion debt with 107% debt-to-gdp ratio... highest income out of any country, second highest income is less than half of their's (which is china with 8trillion)

US has a pretty high avg IQ, higher than canada's for example, and just 1 IQ less than UK's

You should be jealous actually, their income alone is a reason to be... also their military is the strongest. (so strong actually that it is comparable to the rest of the world, instead of just one country)
#26 to #19 - solidor (12/10/2013) [-]
Large military yes, but the best? Perhaps parts of it, not all of it, no single nation can make that claim. The SAS for example are still one of the best in the world, they're actually loaned out to other countries to provide training, expertise and live operations, including but not limited to France and the USA.

True, but the US navy and air force are far and away the best in the world. Their capability for power projection is totally unmatched. It doesn't really matter how good your special forces are when they'd get blown to pieces before they made it anywhere near the coast.
#43 to #36 - solidor (12/12/2013) [-]
Assuming you could spot them.
#27 to #19 - freenarative (12/10/2013) [-]
The military is so strong that you keep getting servicemen sent home in ziplock bags, your drones keep missing their targets and you keep going blue on blue.
I would rather have an army that is 10% of the size but 1,000% the quality. After all, if you ask ANY woman they will tell you that it's not the size, it's what you do with it that counts ;)
#35 to #27 - Rascal (12/10/2013) [-]
also US alone has more tanks/planes/ships than the rest of the world added together (almost twice as many)...
User avatar #39 to #35 - newdevyx (12/10/2013) [-]
say that to Russia.
#40 to #39 - Rascal (12/10/2013) [-]
russia is in the rest of the world...

and let's not forget that russia is a pretty poor country (only UK level income), they can't maintain or produce too much of them anyway.

You obviously have no idea, now do you. In a real war size matter. (US also has the best planes and ships). SAS? What will they do in a real war? They are just infantry (the weakest type of ANY military).

This is how it goes by strength: Land - weak, Air - Strong, Naval - Strongest. Land units (like SAS) are good for precision attacking, hostage rescuing or just fighting on ground without causing colleteral damage.

If you wanna know US sent around only 120k soldiers in irag against more than 1,3million, why? because a ship would destroy whole city parts or even the city with one shot.

Quality? Like, UK? Quality... look at their ships... yea that is quality, right?

Fine, I'm an asshole, sorry for not realizing how "south america is a **** place to live in" and how some countries flag has 4 stars and a line is relevant here.

It's ok, my comment was stupid anyway because I failed to remember that the European Union was formed way after the first U.S. flag. For some reason I was thinking that you were saying the U.S. was jealous of the European Union
