This was the first movie I ever saw from Studio Ghibli, because of it, I grew feels towards anime in general
User avatar #23 to #2 - lemoron (08/04/2014) [-]
same here, Naruto was the second one I started watching (I exclude pokemon because that's not anime it's a way of life)
User avatar #68 to #23 - baltaismelnais ONLINE (08/05/2014) [-]
I wouldn't call Pokemon a way of life, since, well, Ash is still 10 over, umm, 14 years now? I didn't have interwebs then, and only anime I could watch was on TV. After Ghibli movies, I watched Digimon, Pokemon, and then Naruto, since no channel showed anything else.

Well it's a tragic ******* film, worse still since it's based off the creators own experiences.

(literally a spoiler):
you mean that one of the creators really put the charred bones of his sister in a can?

the movie is based off a book of a japanese person during WW2. Ths book was written as an apology to the authors sister who died during the war. so yes in a sense to your question

Everyone is talking about how its closing down, but they said it themselves, they aren't closing, just taking a break to figure out what direction they are going with the company.

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind isn't officially a Ghibli film since it was released before Studio Ghibli was founded, Still an amazing film nonetheless

Not as good as the comic though. If you liked the movie I suggest trying to read it. Its long and a pretty hard read but soooo worth it

They hold out their arms and offer the flowers to testificate children sometimes. Notch said it was meant to be a little reference to this.

Can I get an honest opinion about The Wind Rises? Compared to Spirited Away or Howl's Moving Castle. I've been debating on whether I should watch it or not.
User avatar #88 to #72 - jagarico (08/05/2014) [-]
I thought it was pretty good, but it's in a different category from classic ghibli movies like those. But then again, I'm an aerospace engineer so I'm kinda biased

****** glorious. Very much not a kid's film, however.
