Like if you don't literally worship satan, you're just a phony metalhead.

And if you're not a vampire, you're just a phony goth.

No, if it's a real issue that you disagree with then punk culture demands you rebel.

However just cause you don't fight over every thing doesn't mean you're not punk, their where some punks that weren't all raw raw fight the power.

metal has nothing with satan and goths have nothing with vampires.
"punk took root in local scenes that tended to reject association with the mainstream. An associated punk subculture emerged, expressing youthful rebellion and characterized by distinctive styles of clothing and adornment and a variety of anti-authoritarian ideologies."

Don't be such a child with your ******** analogies.

Metal and Goth started as and are primarily musical and aesthetic movements, whereas punk has had a political meaning and nature since its inception.

I'm not even punk any more, questionable if I ever were - moot if I still am a bit punk , and I agree to this.

Besides, doesn't everyone rebel to something at some point or another?

I don't know who the kids were but i think the video shows that punk grew from just a fashion/music/rebellion from the 70's and has evolved into a community of people all over the world that will stand up for each other, the reason they went to the embassy was because punks in Indonesia (who i doubt many of the turkish kids have even met) got arrested locked up and sent to camps to be taught how to "Not be punk" just for being at a punk show. underground bands touring the world and playing in sqauts/parks/house shows, setting up homes and gigs in abandon places, most people in that city or whereever won't even know its happening Unlike if a big metal band or something comes to the city then even people who don't know the band would know they are coming down
I'm not trying to be like "punks not dead man" mainly because the exploited suck but its still a life style that people live. SCAB EATER // DRAIN SHOW // 21.9.2013 This is a good video that shows the way alot of shows are played in some parts of the world

Kinda look like a bunch op posers to me, just spraying some random signs like that will better their cause. what happened in Indonesia was horrible, those kids did not deserve what they got for wanting to look like punks. However I'm just saying that these people are as much part of the punk lifestyle as it was as the fake stoner hippies nowadays are part of what happened in the 60's or those goofy greaser dance groups are John travolta.

All seem like a bunch of posers to me

Your always going to get the people who listen to punk music and dress in tartan pants/casulties shirts and whatnot chances are they will never find their way to a gig that isn't some major name.
I doubt in every city there is a scene that has been going since it started but in my city and others all over the world there is a punk scene that has been passed down generation to generation, members of local bands from early 80's still playing in other bands.

this is true, because there's a lot of punks got arrested, and they didn't sent to camps, some to prison and some to orphanage (since most of punks are homeless and under 18)

yes, punks like to watch some concert (metal, reggae, hard rock) some kind like that.
when mosh pit comes (google it) if you in the middle of it, I guaranteed you gonna get some serious injure, even death.
some of them even bring stuff like knife, motorcycle gear tied on belt for a weapon, cleaver. so many people get killed until now.

they are too brutal, even our government can't handle it. it's because we are poor country, low educational system but high human resources. most of them are from 7 - 20 years old, and most of them are orphanage.

**** like this drives me so ******* insane.
people who belong to a certain subculture (for example punks) which revolves arround a certain activity (for example rebelling) telling us that we disscriminate them just because that is what the subculture is supposed to do.
Punk music tells everyone to rebell and the clothes even say so so what point is it to listen to that kind of music, hang out with that kind of people and wear that kind of clothes if you are to much of a pussy/attentionwhore to actually rebel.
Nothing.

There's always two sides to everything. There are true "punks"...those who are attracted to the idea of going against the status quo...who eat, sleep and breathe being rebellious and those who are attracted to the style and music. Both sides may look the same and even like the same style of music...but both are drastically different. Same goes for the god awful "scene" stage back when i was around 19 - 20 years old. There were those who liked the look...and those who copied it to look "unique" and make up some sort of autistic style and behavior associated with it...But yeah, with kids...it's different. They will always take things that seem cool to them and copy it in a safer manner...and then there are the idiots who actually copy the **** in every way...like high school "stoners" and the full blown actual druggie **** ups no one likes.

Well, you know, after all, Punk is music. You can enjoy music without believing in the values behind the music. I listen to Punk and Crust but I still think "rebelling" is idiotic. If you want to change something, become a politician. If you think Anarchy is in any way a possibility for our society...well, shoot yourself, I guess, because that´s completely ridiculous.

Same for any other genre. I love Black Metal without being an Elitist and hating everything and everyone, I love rap without wanting to life in the streets and life the "thug life", etc, etc

I´d say it´s rather "punk" to listen to the music and just pull through with your own opinions instead of letting your taste in music define your opinions, huh?

That's why I say I'm a huge fan of punk music, but I don't go out in jean vests and red mohawks. You can like what you like, but once you start associating yourself too deep with it, there's no valid reason people shouldn't judge you for it.
