if you think pirating video games is immoral, i do it only on old games that arent turning much of a profit anyway, and i dont do it very often. i also dont see what is so immoral about it, because its just sharing what someone else is willingly giving out on the internet.

if you think mooching off my parents is immoral, im 17. i cant not mooch off them. id get a job if i didnt just start college and have a ton of work to do. (and btw, i have a full scholarship, so im not even mooching that much. if i forced them to pay my tuition, then it would be bad, but all i do is basically live with them.)

grats, I would hardly call that mooching off them, you don't legally have any other option.

about the pirating though, its an economy leech. for instance, why would you make a game if only few people bought it and the rest got it free? while this may be an over exaggeration, still, it leads the developer focusing on anti piracy instead of the actual game itself.

with old games, the marketing is off; if it wasn't they could still turn a profit. it gives less motivation to make a game that will last longer than a year or so; pirating old games make gaming companies put out more of the same ******** they should still be getting paid for the first time compare CoD to world of warcraft .

sorry if I have a raging bias, im becoming a game developer and ***** getting hard. the easiest way I can see making some dough is putting out low quality free games. I don't want to release any until I have some kind of idea on how to market that **** and even at that, adblock is making that a dream to me.

ah, i apologize.
but i dont see how downloading a game as old as vice city could hurt developers, especially since rockstar already released several new sequels, the newest reaching more than a billion dollars.
and if im not going to buy the game anyway, because i dont have money to spend, does it hurt if i pirate it?
if i dont buy the game, nobody loses money and nobody gains money. and i dont play a game.
if i pirate the game, nobody loses money and nobody gains money. and i get to play a game.
and pirating a game doesnt make people lose money, it simply doesnt give them money that they otherwise wouldnt get anyway, because if i didnt pirate it, i wouldnt buy it.

maybe my logic is flawed, and it just makes sense in my head i guess. i was never one for seeing many different sides of an argument.

usually when you pirate, the site makes moneymostly from ads ironically ; giving money to the people stealing and supporting them, funding more stealing and so forth. people like Kim Dotcom then use that money to hire people to use their skills to steal instead of create. so while it may not seem like a big thing at first and for only one person its not . when thousands of people do it, it becomes a snowball effect that eventually becomes greater then accountable for. so while your money wouldn't go towards GTA anyway, advertising money goes to support pirates instead. Kim Dotcom makes millions in ways more than advertising, its just hard to get into

unfortunately its terribly out of your control. if a person is willing to steal a video for a profit, then they are willing to lie to an advertiser for one too. what it comes down to is that bolt the advertisers and hoster have an agreement to have a considerably less statement price per viewer and a ticker per say. every time a web page is opened, the advertiser has to pay a penny per banner these are rougher numbers, its more or less about what is displayed . and before you actually get to the thing you have pirated, you have been though enough webpages to give the hoster roughly a dollar.

why its different for companies like google, and other company sites, is because they can see what plugins you have and can be trustd not to lie about them, making the price per view settlement higher.

I finally ditched my gaming basement and went outside for the first time in my life, made a ******** of friends and built my self confidence.

When I tried playing anything I just felt like it was boring from start. Haven't really played anything since 4 months except party games. I regret nothing.

Yet I'm still here on FJ.
