I know how you feel there. A lot of people told me it was a good show, but the eyes were already pointed out to me so while watching it I couldn't stop noticing it and it just ruined the show for me.

You're weird. Clannad has some of the worst eye proportions and placement out of any popular shows. It's a god damn travesty.

Do you honestly not see it in, that picture you posted yourself? Just look at the middle girl. Her eyes are almost sliding off of the outside edges of her face. The space between her eyes is about 1/2 the total size of her forehead. Her forehead is about 130% the size of the space underneath her cheekbones. It's god-awful art.

But, since it's anime, everyone gives it a free pass.

**vorigan rolled image** I'm sorry - I tried getting "feels" over Angel Beats, but it just didn't do it for me. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed this anime a bit more than others I've seen, but I didn't feel there was enough character involvement to justify feeling anything for them.

Maybe it's just me, I don't really get much in the way of feels for anything I watch, so...

Still don't understand how people find that show sad. It literally had an amazingly happy ending and almost the entire show was playful except like one episode. There was almost no time to develop any connections to the characters either. I have watched it three times and the only stand out character that I remember was Kanade.

Most people that watch anime are idiots.

They think super sad sob-story back stories is the same as having an actually emotionally impactful show. When, in reality, the super sad sob story back stories in angel beats are just out of place and shoe-horned for the sake of cheap emotional appeals.

Lack of character development, lack of coherent plot, lack of actual character relationships, lack of meaningful comedy, lack of meaningful comedy, lack of developed romance (like character relationships)... There is nothing sad about Angel Beats.

Well, no that's not right. The only thing sad about Angel Beats is what it was promised to be, but never came close to.

Angle Beats isn't even sad though. 99% of the show is just them ******* around and then leaving off with happy ending. How could that be sad? A show that comes to mind is Ef: A tale of melodies/memories. That show will make you feel like **** for a few hours. Still, nothing holds a candle to clannad in regards to how sad it was.

Eveywhere you can watch them free and safely it shows off a good list of things you can watch if you're starting off. Cowboy Bebop is probably if not amazing and so you could watch that... just look do the flow chart and see what things pop up and intrigue you

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Currently watching and in love with.
cowboy bebop. its amazing and a must see
Death notes the good psychological one.
Angel beats will make you sad inside...
The Devil is a part timer is ludicrously funny
I need to finish Psycho-Pass its good.
just started Darker Than Black.
I liked Attack on Titan, people hate it. same with Sword Art Online.
Kill La Kill is hated but I liked it.
Panty and Stocking is kinda like wtf... that was pretty good.

JoJo's Bizzare Adventure is by far a circle jerk but its got some funny ****
Black Lagoon is good and short.
Code Geass I need to finish but its good. Blue Exorcist is good Dragon Ball has a place in my heart, High School DxD is fan service but I liked the story part.
Girls Und Panzer.... tank drifting fun. Hellsing Ultimate is good, along with Parasyte. Deadman wonderland is OP

Crunchyroll is probably your go to place for free and legal streaming. Viewster is quite new but is building a good selection. If you want *ahem* free anime I'd say go to kissanime and you can watch it for free in HD although I bet a few people will comment saying what site they think is better.

MAL is the go-to for pretty much anything anime information related You need to login to view this link (as for watching, as med said, there are tons of sites you can watch on, or you can get torrents on nyaa, which is what I do personally)

Note that some of those are sequels, but just check the Related Anime part on the page for an anime to see. I wouldn't recommend Gintama if you haven't seen your fair share of anime, since its main selling point is parodies and references, but everything else on the first page is fair game.

Did anyone else try Attack On Titan only to be extremely disappointed?

I got 3 episodes in before giving up - it just felt like it wanted to add so much depression and dark themes and edgy characters, but wound up as an overbloated mess. Plus don't get me started on that whole "Eren can't master using the harness thing - maybe he's not cut out for thisOH WAIT, he's actually so incredibly ******* talented at this that he could kinda use a faulty harness

Nah, you aren't alone. Attack on Titan is pretty mediocre, getting to "fine" or "okay" or "oh that one scene was cool" at best.

It's become one of the more popular things lately, but that's really because the people that sing its praises are new to anime, or just have simple, basic, easy to please taste.

The original version of this was one of the worst flowcharts I had ever seen, it had no rhyme or reason. This one, improves upon it, but it's still a ******* mess.

Most notably the slice of life part is a ******* mess

For example:
Mushishi - drama, not SOL
Kyoukai no Kanata - action, not sol
Anohana - Drama, not sol
Angel beats - Drama Comedy, not sol at all
Welcome to the NHK - drama comedy, not sol

Slice of life is not synonymous with "episodic". Slice of life means that each episode portraits fairly ordinary things in the characters world. For example Mushishi isn't a SoL because the characters in each episode are constantly presented in an unordinary, dramatic situations.
