only steam games with good sales so far I've seen are Farcry and Witcher 2, and witcher 2 looks kinda garbage.

I honestly couldn't get into it because they said " **** " every 5 seconds. It seemed like the studio that made it was trying super hard to make it a grown up game but it was set in medieval times, even if that word did exist back then, nobody ever said it. Skyrim only says "damned", or "bloody hell" every once in a while, and dark souls I dont remember any cursing. I'm not saying I can't handle the language, but it just made the environment and the story feel fake and stupid to me

tl;dr- Don't sacrifice a games story to make it seem more M rated.
Pic related. I feel like I quote alot.

**** = Fornicating Under Consent of King, so medieval times, but yeah i agree that game tried too hard to look cool and it really don't

Meh maybe, I'm just stating what I saw from watching a couple of lets plays and their trailers and what I saw was boring cut and dry hack and slash combat a shallow dark fantasy plot and graphics are were good a couple years ago.

Bet you won't be able to run that **** on ultra at 60 fps. And if you play on something more than easy as **** difficulty, then you need to use traps and evade and bombs and daggers. Also the hardest difficulty ends the game when you die. So it's probably impossible on the hardest difficulty.

in trial and error game end game when you die just retarded, also i killed first boss on hard? hardest without 1 death and then gave up, the game way too boring, had to use nothing but auto attack + defensive rune for extra safety

Play it on hard (The way it's meant to be played) and you'll change your tune about combat in a hurry.
The plot is based on the works of Andrzej Sapkowski which include over 6 novels and several short stories. So 'no' to everything you just said about the plot.
And the graphics look a bit old because the game came out in 2011.

does playing it on hard give you better combos and make it so things flow more dynamically? Cuz the videos I saw for combat where just him doing a single combo, dodging back, stepping forward, doing the same combo, dodging back and repeating, and he did that exact same thing in a ton of different fights.

Also just because it's based on books written by someone that got out 6 books doesn't mean it won't be a generic two dimensional fantasy plot. The dragonlance series is a generic 2 dimensional fantasy plot and that has like 30 books.

I guess I'm not really trying to say it looks like an AWFUL game just that it looks pretty second rate and isn't really the kind of thing of game I would want to spend my time on.

Although yeah, maybe you're right perhaps it's the best game around and it just looks boring as **** .

as someone who played to game just wanted to say you are right, fj always on the bandwagon doesn't mean the game is any good

Yep i took their glowing recommendation into account and now i have quickly discovered they are a bunch of fanboy ********* so i have another ****** blist rpg im not going to finish in my steam library now, plus I'm out a lunch.
It's like last remnant all over again.

Fanboy ********* ? I haven't even played the game and you look more like the bandwagon person here. You watched a Let's Play and complained because they person playing the game only used one combo, not even bothering to check if there were other playthroughs that did it differently, and then preceded to talk **** about something that you really have barely any context of. So ya, you just seem ******* cynical.

No I watched Several lets plays, a few gameplay trailers, and a couple of combat videos, and read their wikipedia on how the combat/skill tree worked, I then proceeded to actually play the game.

For combat you are given two swords, an additional weapon. Spells (signs) and potions.
You get a silver sword (deals higher damage to monsters, lower damage to humans), and an iron sword (+humans, -monsters) and a tertiary weapon of your choosing.
The enemies are obviously devided into monsters and humans, but are further devided into fast, regular and slow enemies.
Fast enemies will dodge your attacks, and slow enemies have a **** ton of health so you'll be whacking at them for a while.
To remedy this you are given stances. In fast stance you have a quicker attack, but lower damage and heavy stance you have a slower attack but higher damage and i think there's an aoe stance but i can't quite remember since i played the game so long ago.
When you go into a fight, you have to think about what you are fighting, what their class is, how many there are and whether or not they have some special abilities which will wreck your **** .
While you are ******* with swords and stances you also have signs to worry about, which are borderline essential if you want to survive, and they add another layer of tactical depth since they have a lot of utility such as stuns, possesions etc.
And to add a bit of frosting on top of all that, you need to prepare for fights in the way of potions. You have to collect ingredients from around the map and think about what you are going to be fighting so you can potion up accordingly , and yes this is also borderline essential on the true difficulty.

The story is fun. Let's face it, everything is two-dimensional dark fantasy nonsense these days, but the world of witcher is fun and full of characters, history and interesting creatures.. i'm not going to harp on the story thought.

In short, you'll struggle to find anything with as much depth in an RPG as the Witcher. It's hands down one of the best RPGs ever made, and trumps anything that has come out in recent memory.

lies, combat simply hit and dodge, boss fights trial and error, only way to prepare watch a video about a boss, if you are able to correctly dodge game incredibly boring
