Let´s be honest here i could´t give less of a **** if mtv or someone else played musik on the television because if i want to hear a song i go on the internet. I simply dont want to go through a bunch of songs i dislike just to hear the one i like
There is an entire group of people who live successfully on a schedule that is shifted about 4 hours later than everyone else on the planet. Usually these people are but limited to creative types. We call those that must wake before 10 am either morning people or unlucky.
My sisters School starts at 8:30 so if you are still sleeping im jealous of you and my job starts a 8 if i have to work the morning shift also my dad has to be at his job at 7am every day dont get what my age has to do with anything
gee i forgott MTV had a suggestion system based on the videos i allready like
oh wait no that was actually YouTube, Itunes and basicly every other good site on the Internet
If you are actually smart enough to understand that MTV is meant to be one of the media that introduce music to general audience OUTSIDE the internet, you'd probably don't need to be sarcastic.
Although I understand that MTV is not all about music anymore, my point is that TV programs are merely just one of the media for spreading information and entertainment OUTSIDE the internet.
and my point is TV is a dying media since you can have what you want when you want on the internet soon there will be no outside the internet anymore. Only Radio because we listen to musik while we drive cars and they mostly dont have Wifi or internet in them
There's a problem with that, though. I want to listen to music that is NOT similar to what I already listen to. How will I find new stuff, if everything suggested is the same? Besides, I'm a fan of different prog, and there aren't good ways to recommend "similar" music for that.
I like to explore almost every corner of music. May it be hard rock pardon the umbrella term , opera metal, or even electric swing. Granted MTV is not likely to ever be any resource I use on my search for great music, it would fit a lot of other people's taste, even showing some that they have that taste.
If I only listened to old school metal, Floyd, melodic metals, different progs or any of the many other style I enjoy, you would have a great point. The problem, however, is that I do listen to so many genres and styles not even remotely similar.
MTV used to be a great tool and resource for this, as well as it being the M in it's name. That's why they're catching understandable flack.
Yes I agree youtube is not the best solution since it brings up a lot of crap other people liked who watched the same video as you did but i was just making an example usually i go for online radio stations of my wanted genre or Spotify
I got two questions, when going to a concert or whatever Do you see the supporting acts? Do you kill time by going to people you have no idea if you'll like em?
What kind of question is this? If i go to a 30 Seconds to Mars concert I sure as hell will see a supporting act i might enjoy and not some Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown or something like this? And what the hell meeting new people has to do with MTV allways playing the same songs on and on? See it like this if i see/hear a person/song for the first time and i dont like it then i shure as hell dont want to see/listen to him/this song again.
My point is, you can find out new **** , for example when I went to Soundwave I saw Enter Shikari, I didn't like the first couple songs they played but then it grew on me and I quite like them.
I REALLY don't like pop music but I don't mind that Ferrel Williams guy, and it was because I put a radio on that I heard "Happy". Most genres have hidden treasures even trash ones
You ******* blind or what? I liked 1 or 2 songs from a band and suggestions from a different band but slightly same genre pop up and thats how you go further and further or just hit the randome play button on Spottify. **** like MTV allways played the same TOP 50 every day 24/7
I don't have mtv **** on my tele but I got something else and it plays everything from well known artist to people you haven't heard of or know of, so when I hear something I like I can see it.
well "suggesting" is not something great either, it's a hit and miss just like I get from tv or some random music mix on internet. Either one likes the music or doesn't where he heard it isn't important
yea, because ****** pop music appeals to everyone
sorry, the last thing the majority of people who arent autistic teenagers want to listen to isnt
"watch me whip
watch me neigh neigh
watch me whip
watch me neigh neigh
watch me whip
watch me neigh neigh
watch me whip
watch me neigh neigh
oo watch me
oo watch me
oo watch me
oo watch me"
sorry to burst your little bubble here, but thats hardly even music, and the people who listen to it are just as autistic as the lyrics.
You could also call metal "not music" because screaming =/= singing and singing is inherently associated with music. You could call just about anything "not real music." It all depends on taste. I myself despise the song, and I only like one or two mainstream pop songs. Lyrics can be repetitive. It's still music. Quality? Not really.
I think you have a serious misunderstanding of metal. Screaming =/= metal. Metal is one of the broadest terms in music. You have thousands of bands that doesn't scream, and thousands that do. While most pop is very generic, metal is vastly different. You can't point to a single aspect of metal and say "this is why metal isn't music" as there are no single aspect of metal that's unanimous for everything that falls under "metal". On top of that, "metal" has a lot more great singers than pop. Pop, again, is always more generic.
There's nothing wrong with generic. It's all up to personal opinion, even if you can objectively rate songs, to some degree, that's not important. I can jam to songs I know aren't all that, when with friends, having fun. Is not not about enjoyment? I enjoy metal and pop and much, much more. Besides, there are screams in pop as well as most other genres. Take this iconic one, for instance www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYMD_W_r3Fgwww.myinstants.com/instant/yeah/
i dont give a **** about whether its music or not
yea, because ****** pop music appeals to everyone
sorry, the last thing the majority of people who arent autistic teenagers want to listen to isnt
that was the key part.
It's funny how people like you get super defensive to the point you have to call anyone autistic for liking music you don't. When you have to come up with imaginary reasons a song is popular, it's time to calm down and look up "opinion" in a dictionary.
Thats a great observation
But let me tell you why you're ******* wrong
I dont even like unclean vocals, but your statement is just so utterly false I felt the need to ******* correct your ass en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screaming_ (music)
Its a vocal technique. Developed and used over time that evolved from being more sing-songy in classical music, to being how it is more modernly in the late 1960's
Pop music is a general term, and most of it doesn't appeal to everyone anymore, but is rather marketed to teenage girls and what not. There's so much different now. Sure a lot of pop is just that; songs that are easy to like, or good background songs. However, saying that pop music is music for everyone isn't accurate anymore.
And this is why its just a bunch of reality shows now. Its a sad truth but honestly I think most of our and maybe even the earlier generation has moved on already. Its really a thing of convenience over nostalgia.
I mean, you probably are a freak somehow (What you do in your bedroom is your business) but I think he was focused more on the 3 am part being in the middle of the night. I doubt he really took time to consider the tail end of 6-8 may be when people wake up for work.
This is p nice. but tbh this and like 2 other songs are the only ones i like, so I guess i'm proving you right.
Apparently he went off the grid a few days ago. He wrote a post on facebook before he left all is accounts on social media to pr people. Calling internet users sheep and saying "he has some fences to jump".
I hate when people do that ******* 'sheeple' ******** .
Also people who actually bash not just some pop music, but literally ALL pop music, like they're the ******* music messiah. U2 are ******* deadly for that **** , like stop man, you're amazing at music, there's no need to bash other stuff.
I used to follow deadmau5 when he just made bits and pieces in FL Studio, 'I forget' was an amazing piano piece he did, turned into the basis for 'I remember'.
Please don't shut yourself in an ivory tower deadmau5, you used to be ******* neato...
theres this thing going on twitter where this kid keeps tweeting about dead mouse killing 3 kids in vehicular manslaughter and dead mouse responded w this
