To be fair if this was the first time they spotted this shark, which I doubt with at least two divers and a perfect camera angle, it was most likely approaching out of curiosity.
Divers are least at risk from shark attacks than people taking part in other water sports. And it's easy to see why from this, the guy is laying horizontally, close to the sediment and faces the shark. This is perfect behaviour, the shark knows it only has a couple of angles to attack you from here so a strike now isn't worth it. Sharks are more alarmed by large vertical shapes, meaning it assesses you as a larger threat and more drastic action would be considered. Maintaining eye contact with a shark is the best way to stop it approaching to closely, underwater videographers keep sharks in their vision but don't look at them unless needed to so they can get the best shots.
And finally the shark's body language resembles nothing like one that is going to attack, it's relaxed in it's swimming and isn't jagedly moving as a result of it's muscles tensing. It's pectoral fins are near enough horizontal, as opposed to tensed downward.
Signs of a pretty chill shark they've probably been trying to get shots of for the last 5 minutes.
shark navigate using their snouts. obviously theres the super-smell, but they track the swimming/moving/splashing of prey through the vibrations that pass through the water.
if you've got an antenna designed to detect a wounded seal splashing around about three miles away somewhere in the ocean, image the ******* VOLUME of being thwacked and rubbed on the snout.
shark equivalent of a flash bang.
It's from electroreceptors like a paddlefish, so basically a living dousing rod.
or the glans after orgasm :^) probably like that when you rub their snoots.
Damn that game was crazy addictive for me, I remember getting hacked on runescape in like 2006, throwing a hissi fit and finding a new game and I found this. But I lasted legit 2 days before it bored the **** out of me and I went back to Runescape.
That is most definitely a tiger shark, although a smaller one. Also definitely not in attack mode and just having a poke around at the strange-looking seal blowing bubbles on the bottom of the ocean.
