This is the third time... the third ******* time.
All i ever do, is watch a TV show, post 1 or 2 memes, and a year later it becomes a "cancer fandom" and everybody has to get gassed again.

Rick and Morty fans are nowhere as near as cancerous and widespread as the brony plague was, and still is to an extent.
*********** crossed over everything. ******* everything. Everything had to be ponified. Didn't matter how stupid or cringy it was, they shoved that **** into every little crack and crevice they could find.

As for R&M, I've hardly seen any of that. Hell, Boku no Hero Academia has more ****** redrawn jokes from sitcoms like the two or three versions (I **** you not) of that "what's worse than a rapist" gag. So far on this site I've seen exactly one R&M crossover, which was with The Witcher. Everyone acted like it was the worst thing ever created and that the world was about to end, even though it was only mildly cringy.

Okay so hear me out.

I have literally never come in contact a single person, statement or post of someone unironically saying that Rick and Morty fans are smart, or that people don't get the show. I have seen one copypasta, a couple times, reposted on this site alone, and nothing else. I've never seen a tumblr post, a cringe facebook post, a post here on FJ, a tweet, a snapchat, a youtube video, nothing.
This is beyond me wondering if maybe I've just happened to never see anything. This is beyond me thinking that maybe the fanbase is turning sour and people don't like it.

This is literally not a thing. No recognizable group of people actually ever believed this or made it a big deal. There was never any "part of the fanbase" that ruined it for anyone. The only thing I've seen regarding this, the only thing I've seen, is people complaining about a nonexistent group of people that never said anything.

No one is ruining the show. No one is ruining the fanbase by saying stuff like this.
YOU people are. The ones mocking a nonexistent group. The ones making post after post about this. The ones saying the fanbase is being ruined. Honestly.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily fromNarodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a Rick and Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.
