I prefer quick respawn as opposed to instant respawn. Like, 5 seconds. Instant respawn makes you never able to get through the enemy's base without spawn camping.

lol, the difference being Sturridge just wasnt playing, Welbeck is just poop.

Plus Wenger isn't very great at man management atm. Dont know why he used to be class at it.
#94 to #80 - ftsfts (09/04/2014) [-]
Well Welbeck is playing just on the wing not in the CF where he likes. Sturridge had about the same amount of goals and games as Welbeck does now before he left to Pool. Just trying to keep a bit of faith.
User avatar #95 to #94 - formidableguy (09/04/2014) [-]
Sturridge was not getting the same game time Welbeck was, Torres and Co were getting played ahead of him every time. Ah well Chelki's loss! Were getting the benefit of a great striker now! haha.

Ahh well have to see where it goes from now on I guess, good luck for the rest of the season though, (except for the games against Liverpool)

User avatar #68 to #40 - SuperHyperCrazy (09/04/2014) [-]
What the **** ? A soccer pitch (according to a casual Google search) is between 100-130 yards in length, and 50-100 yards in width. Now imagine running up, down, side to side, and across a field that's AT LEAST 100x50 yards for 90 minutes without the constant breaks you see in football due to snaps, huddles, challenges, timeouts blah blah blah. Yes, I'll admit there are divers/floppers, intentional fouls, time wasting etc. But still, the time lost in those cases hardly amount to the time of football that isn't actual playing time.

And in truth, arguing about this is pretty pointless because they're two completely different sports and "physically demanding" can be interpreted in more ways than one.
User avatar #41 to #40 - TwiztidNinja (09/04/2014) [-]
You probably will not like hearing that the second most physically demanding sport is motocross then.

Makes more sense than soccer
User avatar #44 to #43 - TwiztidNinja (09/04/2014) [-]
I did not make the rules it simply is, the amount of physical fitness it takes to play a game of soccer is more than any other sport, it does not take injury into account.
Motocross being second actually surprises me too being that i used to race before i ****** myself up and yeah, it is not an easy thing to do lol.
User avatar #47 to #44 - pedestrianx (09/04/2014) [-]
I just don't see how soccer is more physically difficult than sports like rugby, football, or hockey. You need lots of stamina and hand-eye in both. The difference with soccer is you're just using your feet. Rugby and football contain aggresive, hard-hitting plays, hokcey requires you to be able to skate and have great hand-eye holding a stick. Some individual sports like wrestling and boxing I'd rank ahead of soccer.
User avatar #58 to #47 - klaes (09/04/2014) [-]
And the "you're just using your feet" comment makes it very clear to me you've never played a soccer game at a competitive level in your life.
User avatar #57 to #47 - klaes (09/04/2014) [-]
As someone who has played rugger, football, and soccer on a amateur level I'd like to weigh in. Football(American version) is pure hard hits and unless you're the running back you're a wimp if you get tired from sprints. Soccer(Football) is the most exhausting as far as endurance goes, you run an assload more than you do in american football. Rugby, however, is the most tiring of the three because you need to run like a bitch 24/7 and still be ready for heavy hits.
User avatar #60 to #57 - pedestrianx (09/04/2014) [-]
So, you're saying rugby is more tiring than soccer?
User avatar #61 to #60 - klaes (09/04/2014) [-]
If you don't like getting hit(me), yes.

Endurance wise, no.
User avatar #62 to #61 - pedestrianx (09/04/2014) [-]
Well, endurance-wise is debatable, but the main argument here is that soccer is not the most "physically demanding" in which I would count hitting as a factor
User avatar #63 to #62 - klaes (09/04/2014) [-]
You can will yourself to get back up from the ground after a heavy hit, provided you aren't concussed or K.O. You can't will yourself to keep running when you have no energy whatsoever left.

I played with guys who were fat as **** in Football(American) and couldn't run their lard asses for more than 10 seconds at a time. They weren't strong, just heavy and they did an okay job.

Another factor you need to take into consideration is that unlike basketball, football, and to my knowledge hockey you cannot do many substitutions in soccer(and rugby).

As far as endurance goes:
www.runnersworld.com/fun/distance-run-per-game-in-various-sports

Not debatable. A few hits doesn't make up for 7 miles of running, and I think due to your lack of knowledge on the sport you forget that outside of the top-professional level where it's a diving competition you can get hit very, very hard sometimes.

The only time I've concussed in a sport wasn't in a football game, a rugger match, or shooting hoops. It was when I took a hard body tackle in the middle of a soccer game. You should try playing it with a few friends for a full game length and you'll realize it's way tougher on your body(as far as endurance goes) than american football.
User avatar #67 to #63 - pedestrianx (09/04/2014) [-]
I am aware how strenuous the distance running is soccer is, but in my experiences I've found it much more difficult to manage going 100% speed in a whole game of football after you've constantly been taking hits. I will agree soccer takes more endurance, I was getting myself confused between that and durability. For football and rugby, you don't need as much endurance as soccer, but there is a high demand for durability, strength, speed/agility and overall athleticism. You said a few hits doesn't make up for 7 miles of running, by which I'm assuming, based on the given source, you're referring to as the average distance run per player in a soccer game. A few generally means a small amount, about 2 or 3. Consider there are approximately between 120-140 plays in a full-length football game. That's 60-70 offensive/defensive plays per team. Players like runningbacks, linebackers, defensivebacks and wide receivers will be giving/receiving hit after hit. That is hard to follow up with going as hard as you can every play. Offensive/defensive linemen (the big guys I assume you're referring to) don't need stamina as much as pure force to either keep the defender from breaking through the line or being the one having to rush through the line to the quarterback. Picture having to have your hands against someone's chest pushing back at them for half a game, your arms and legs start to go numb but the consequence is being bowled over by another 250-300 pound man. That's just why I believe football to be more physically demanding.
User avatar #49 to #47 - TwiztidNinja (09/04/2014) [-]
I think AFL actually scores higher than both NFL and rugby simply because they run a lot further.
Just how it is, it is not like soccer plays are not professional athletes at the absolute top of their game, it is a worldwide sport they have to be.
**** i do not like soccer at all do not get me wrong i have never even watched a game.
