Color, sex, preference; it's what you are, not who you are. There's no need to be ashamed, but there's no a reason to be proud either.

Be proud of what you do that makes you who you are. Not what you look like that makes you what you are.

I'm with you all the way.

priding yourself on anything, other than actual personal achievements which required you to work for it, is stupid and pointless.

Just because one person is stupid and creates racially based organization, everyone else doesn't have to go and make there own. Life's unfair, and sometimes we all have to deal with stupid double standards like that.

Seriously, thank you! This is coming from an ethnic minority as well.

Being proud of one's ethnicity or sexuality often has more to do with being proud of the efforts by others of the same group in overcoming oppression and stigmatization, as well as being proud to acknowledge yourself as [insert ethnicity/sexuality] today despite the stigma that often comes with it. I mean if you've spent more than an hour on this site you can't possibly say that racial stigmatization in the west is eradicated.

Discrimination will never be fully eradicated but we don't live in the god damn dark ages where this **** is condoned on judicial or societal grounds. We get it, there's nothing wrong with being a different colour nor is there anything to be ashamed about.

You may feel like this, but it's just disturbing how many people still act like we're in the dark ages. So yea I do still agree with hudis

You have to think beyond the borders of the U.S., and even so, interracial marriage only became legal in all the states of America in 1967 - not even 50 years ago, so hardly the dark ages. Twist it however you want, but discrimination to the point of violence and crime is still a very serious problem, globally (including the west), and I don't fault people for being proud of where they came from in a world where that's true.
