You could keep your mic off during recording and insert the audio later.
I've done that a couple times. If you're like me and you're not one of those people that screams out like a jackass (something which most popular gaming channels rely on these days), it keeps you from ******* up perfect moments.
Well that's another thing.
I tend to want to please the largest amount of audience as humanly possible.
And the majority LIKE the screaming, which I'm not huge in but I can do, but in order to get the minority that hate screaming I add text instead.
So people who like screaming read it as me screaming, and people who hate it just read it normally.
This obviously isn't THE ONLY reason text (IMO) is 500x better than voice but that's one of them.
Really I use funnyjunk as more of a feedback system, hence why I don't monetize the videos I put here, I just want everyone's criticism for how I can be the best youtuber possible.
This is prob a way longer response then you wanted
tl;dr I'll try anything once
Both are good, I guess.
Birgirpall, who's the best gaming guy out there, started off with only text, but he also had a lot, a lot of editing.
I've never put the time into my own crappy videos that no one watches to do fancy editing, but I think that it's got to go hand in hand with the text-only type of gameplay footage.
A good example of what I'm talking about, I guess: www.youtube.com/watch?v=FV4LDCgWMdI
Well, Burger Pal has text swirling around the screen in circles, following objects, expanding or withdrawing, stuff like that.
But man, editing a hundred different text boxes is a pain in the ass in the first place. I don't do it myself, don't know why I'm telling you to.
Oh people like that kinda stuff?
I thought it was just his own personal flare, never really thought it added or took away from the video.
I mean it's only one added step to the text but I guess.
I mean I upload those kinda edited videos once a day at least, I like editing, the feedback, the views, ect, I'm trying to be a good youtuber, so I want to put out video like birgirpall's monthly stuff EVERY DAY.
I look at most people's work and think "I can do that", so I try, and I'm going to keep trying till I can be the next pewdiepie or until I learn I'm not meant for this kind of work...
Which would suck because I enjoy the **** out of it.
The grass is always greener on the other ass.
I don't know what other people like, but it always made a huge impression on me. It's ten times more hilarious if you've got text flying with a ragdoll rather than just some other place on the screen... You want the eyes of the person watching attracted to both the text and what you're doing, I guess. That and one thing Biggi did really with his BF3 videos was to have segues that just worked with the music.
And now I'm going to link to my own **** because I'm a whore and also like feedback.
I think I know why.
When writing down some of those comments I read them slightly differently every time just to see what people read it as.
If you read all of them as a cringe worthy 12 year old clearly you're going to not want to watch the video at all.
But read it in your own voice and in my opinion it is more relatable and entertaining.
That's actually why I use the text instead of my own commentary, even though I have good mic and voice.
I'm pretty sure that's why I have such a hard line of viewers either saying
"That was the worst thing I have ever seen"
and
"haha omg that was amazing"
Read my text in a way that you enjoy and you will enjoy the video, don't assume everyone who makes youtube videos is a terribly edgy 15 year old. But I definitely know where you are coming from
The Gainer is **** compared to Eddie's Peace, modded. Just use perks for Non-automatic pistols, and firing from the hip. Easily does over 180 damage per bullet.
tier 3 metal.
if you do not know the leather, metal and combat armor has tiers called sturdy and heavy,
not only do they have better stats but also cover more and more of the body.
