I don't see him closing down national parks because he's throwing a fit
ah, so you are one of those people that are that narrow minded. let me ask you, when you have a child and one of the parents wants to give the child medicine to make it healthier but the other parent refuses because she thinks it should happen later who is to blame? i blame the parent that refuses.
supporting the "Patriot Act"
nothing wrong here. the sentence "you have nothing to fear if you have nothing to hide" wrong. then again, no man i without his faults and you have to agree that america is in need of some matter of defense from such things considering the enemies it has
double our nation's debt, then purpose to raise it more.

I don't think you understand how our government works
User avatar #249 to #170 - unncommon (10/09/2013) [-]
I understand perfectly fine how the government works. But do you seriously think that if Obama can get away with:
1. Bombing Syria
2. Benghazi, Libya Embassy
3. Boston Marathon martial law
4. Gave a no-bid contract to Halliburton
5. Abused prisoners at Get-mo
6. Supported a $700 billion dollar TARP bail-out
7. Increased the national debt
8. Supported unwarranted wire-tapping of innocent civilians
9. Ordered a private company to fire 1,000 employees
10. Stole money from retired police and teachers
11. Operation Fast and Furious
12. Violated Freedom of Information Act

And much more, that he won't be able to get away with this? I don't think that you understand how Obama works.
#267 to #249 - iamflowseidon (10/09/2013) [-]
Now I think you are even more uneducated about our government/ current events. Starting with the fact that there has been no military intervention in Syria whatsoever, to the common knowledge that every year since 1976 has seen an increase in national debt, except 2000 under Clinton. Other things to note are that no-bid contracts are commonplace in the fed and are used when only one company has a feasible option, martial law was designed in America for situations like Boston, and the TARP bailout was not under his administration, but also kept our country from economic collapse. You really need to read a broader variety of news and information
User avatar #27 to #5 - ompalomper (10/08/2013) [-]
but it isn't even obama's fault. im not sure about you but i think it's really dickish to sue a man for something he hasn't caused
User avatar #174 to #27 - commontroll (10/09/2013) [-]
To be fair, he's wanting to pass a very poorly made healthcare plan that doesn't solve the real problems that would make up 1/6 of our budget, give federal agents authority to inspect homes at any moment if they're "high-risk" homes (which includes tobacco users, mothers under 21, families with kids with low grades, and families with current or former active duty military family members) as well as a slew of other crap. And the way they want it handled is just a crappy way of handling it.

The house of representatives is making compromises, but the Senate throws out every idea. Meanwhile, the President is the one who says one week or else it shuts down. He's just pissed off because people are changing what will be his only legacy beyond being half-black and NDAA (which is not a good legacy) and he doesn't want to be an unimportant President.
User avatar #251 to #174 - ompalomper (10/09/2013) [-]
Claims vs. Facts - Obamacare

think what you want, i think is seems lie a good idea. also, we are not ******* talking about that federal ******** . we are talking about the health-care problem. one problem at a time dude.

also, making compromises nowadays seem to involve the phrase "do what we want DESPITE the fact we aren't the elected presidential party of we force you to shut the government down". seriously this is even more stupid than blaming the green party in 2000 for the fact that they didn't do as their "big brother" demanded and surrendered the election. and if you want more then i share the opinion in this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTJubcZFA78&feature=c4-overview&list=UUGaVdbSav8xWuFWTadK6loA

lastly, "He's just pissed off because people are changing what will be his only legacy beyond being half-black and NDAA" this must be the ugliest pile of **** i have ever seen. ho-lee **** man, are you actually this stupid? this guy is one of the FEW bastards within politics that seem to actually want to make the country better. i am quite sure that the republicans are doing this PURELY out of spite and/or that they feel forced to do the exact opposite that the republicans want despite if it's for the good of the country or not, and make no mistake, the democrats are just as bad when they aren't elected.

hence why i hate politics to the very core of my soul and why i have a dream of fixing it
User avatar #253 to #251 - commontroll (10/09/2013) [-]
Obama has not given a **** since he was reelected. And I wasn't bring up those issues, that is something that will happen when it's passed. Federal agents can search the homes of roughly 80% of the country because their family is "high risk" according to their standards.

And it really isn't smart because it's not just making it so the taxes pay for expenses, it's making business owners (including the little ma and pa shops that are always going out of business these days because it's not profitable) pay for their employees' health insurance. The cost of health care wouldn't even be as bad as it is if there were regulations on what's reasonable costs for a hospital to charge.

Seriously, name one good bill that Obama has allowed to pass. One good one that isn't just a whole bunch of **** with a ribbon on it.
User avatar #256 to #253 - ompalomper (10/09/2013) [-]
i don't think you understand

I DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE FEDERAL AGENTS.
that **** was not his ******* fault and believing that is is is solely because he is the acting president. anyone else was the president? blame him/her. a wooden doll was the president and someone pulled a string to make the signature? burn the doll, everyone is happy!

what i DO care about is that the republicans are acting like spoiled children who doesn't want the other kid to use a toy

as for the bills. I'll give you a few:
Spent Nuclear Fuel Tracking and Accountability Act
Drinking Water Security Act
Hurricane Katrina Emergency Health Workforce Act
Homes for Heroes Act
Fuel Economy Reform Act
User avatar #257 to #256 - commontroll (10/09/2013) [-]
Why don't you? It's bypassing our right to not be searched without a warrant. It's part of the same bill that he's been pushing so hard. And don't act as if the President has no influence over the bills his friends and party members draft up.

And as I said, it's not just the Republicans. The House of Representatives (Republican dominant) came up with plenty of new versions of the act, with less of the ridiculous spending it would require, and sent these to the Senate (Democrat dominant) and the Senate would not budge. Both parties are being stupid, get your facts straight and get your eyes off of your Hope poster for a little bit.

He is not a good President, and he has passed a lot of terrible bills and acts. I don't give a rat's ass about the Katrina refugees unless it's about them leaving my city so the crime rates stop climbing. It's been years now.

I don't care about some fuel economy laws, I don't buy new cars, so why would it matter to me? And I don't care about drinking water security, as that should not be a federal issue.
User avatar #259 to #257 - ompalomper (10/09/2013) [-]
THE POINT OF THE ******* ACT IS NOT TO MAKE DEMANDS! ITS MADE TO MAKE SURE THE GOVERNMENT DOESN'T STOP FUNCTIONING WHILE THE NEW BUDGET IS INSTALLED!

and you only give a **** for the things that affect you?

im sorry, im just boiling with rage right now

done. im done boiling.

you are everything that is wrong, not only in the US but in the entire world. is it really that ******* hard to look at the bigger picture? just ******* once?

sadly it seems that it is
User avatar #260 to #259 - commontroll (10/09/2013) [-]
Really? I'm what's wrong with it? No, the reason I don't care about them getting even more help is because a massive amount of them simply packed up and moved to Houston, and have been freeloading ever since. Those are the better ones too. The others go and shoot 15 year old kids in the head with a shotgun, then none of the others help and just stand there and watch the kid almost bleed to death. They rob donut shops and kill people over fifty bucks they're stealing from a Subway. Their kids stab other kids in the cafeteria in school, and they get in shoot outs with the cops while their kids are in the car.

Oh, by the way, those all happened within a month, and they were all done in the same area as all of them.

So no, I don't really care about them getting even more help from the government when they clearly don't want it to get out of their situation.

And what the hell are you even talking about with that first paragraph dude? What does that have to do with agents being able to investigate a massive amount of America's families if the bill passes as is?
User avatar #261 to #260 - ompalomper (10/09/2013) [-]
seems we where talking about different things. i was talking about the act of continuing resolution that allows the government to spend some more money as the old budget dictated before the new budget is properly installed
