Again, I got these from buzzfeed. Someone asked, "OP, why not just post the link?!" Well , I never click on links after I ended up on lemonparty, so I made a comp for you guys to view more conveniently. I have no rights to any of these. I really hope you enjoyed reading some fun facts!

Please note since the date I signed up, October 2011, this is the highest my content has gone. If I wanted to thumb whore I would have been doing this the whole time. I simply just like to share what I think is interesting. (:

How does the Alaska one work?

Part of the Aleutian Islands extend beyond the International Date Line, making it east of the rest of the country. It's just technical ********.

Alaska doesn't cross the international date line though, it should but the line is bent around the Alaskan islands. The true international date line should be 180 degrees longitude however for practicality it is bent around Russia and Alaska so you don't have two different calender dates in the same country.

About* and Russia and Oceania are the only ones that seem farther east.

But the date line doesn't separate east from west. East and west are relative to your position, if you travel west you never arrive in the east, you just carry on traveling west.

It does separate east from west though, for practical purposes. If it didn't, you couldn't say "x is the most western part of y" because you could just go all the way around the earth and repeat in an infinite loop. There has to be a line somewhere.

Consider though, that the genes that separate us from other prime apes is something around 5%
it's a matter of what genes are important and stuff. It's pretty strange stuff.
