what a noob. she's not even ev-training but mashing everything in her way.
jk. I liked the video

They really should make another less tedious and obviously horrid mechanic instead of IV-breeding and EV-training. Just make a Pokeathlon like training game to strengthen EV's and IV's of your favourite Pokemon, would make the game so much more enjoyable instead of a grind.

Except
those methods are meant to require effort
and are meant for a very small minority of competitive battlers
User avatar #9 to #7 - kombee (08/24/2014) [-]
I know, effort is fine. But it's essentialy grind, there's really no enjoyable gameplay to it. it was originally meant as a device to differentiate Pokemon without the player knowing, but that isn't how it is now (since we obviously know what EV's and IV's are). I don't see anyting wrong in making the process of training pokemon more enjoyable and make more sense (breeding Pokemon is weird contextually speaking and counters the message that Pokemon in general is trying to come fourth with; to be good friends with your Pokemon/animals/friends). There's nothing wrong in stream-ining something that should be stream-lined, the true competetive nature of Pokemon comes in battle, not in how many eggs youve been able to hatch.

Just PokeSav your pokemon. Set a legit number amount of IV and EV's, legit nature and place of capture, and you don't have to worry about ******** EV training.

That's what I did when I still wifi'd battled when HeartGold came out.

Thanks and true. But if I do that I'd rather just use Pokemon Showdown (which I already do). I'm speaking about the mechanics from a gameplay perspective, PokeSAV s good, but the game itself could be so much better in various aspects, and breeding/ev-training is definitely one of them.

Oh yeah of course, that **** is just too much of a grind. Why would I want to kill 100 magikarp for a few speed EVs or breed and breed until I get the right nature and perfect amount of IVs. **** doing all that **** .

Exactly! That's the point I was trying to make lol.

WELL THEY DO

I don't like the IV breeding or EV training, at all. It makes the games way too easy if you do it during the story, and it turns multiplayer into "who has the most time to waste".

thumbs for claw stomping that horrid rat

The whole IV stuff imo takes the fun out of pokemon...the reason why i dont play any of the new games. I can only imagine how broken multiplayer is
User avatar #23 to #20 - feelythefeel (08/24/2014) [-]
It's not quite broken, but there definitely is a clear meta.

Saying multiplayer with pokemon just doesn't sit right with me

It's not explained in the video, but what gible is perfect?
And how do you breed
User avatar #27 to #26 - shadowkingdr (08/25/2014) [-]
gible is a dragon type with high attack and all the others rounded which makes it a very good melee pokemon, and the blobs were ditto that breed with any Pokemon with a few exceptions, when a Pokemon is hatched they have a personality, depending on what it is changes the stats a Pokemon gains on level up and depending on the pokemon they could be good or bad, the above was a gible with low speed and high something else, while the chosen one was probably a attack boost and defense drop

also mega gabite has the 4th highest base stat total and the second highest non legendary and has the highest non legendary attack witht the same base stat total

technically, in the end there will be 2 ev points left over, because the maximum ev is not a multiple of 4. Killing two 1 ev-point pokemon that aren't the right type has no negative effect.
