If there would be more oxygen everything would burn from self ignition.

I was making a reference to the derogatory term for one of latino descent being "spic" and the occupation of said "spic" being a miner.
"Miner spic."

It's dangerous to go alone, take this!

actually if we had double oxygen from the beginning of time, bugs would have always been big we might have domesticated them for all there uses, like spiders being able to climb on walls and make webs, we could ride giant beetles all around the world, now why the **** wouldn't you want that

P.S. if they were domesticated, they might even become cuter like the dogs/cats we see today, they might look like this guy
#40 - ojenais (12/21/2013) [-]
yeah, because giant spider-species would totally evolve in five seconds of the oxygen beeing doubled

I hate to be "that guy," but spiders aren't insects, they're arachnids. It should have said arthropods.

For the double Oxygen levels, you forgot to add, unstoppable without heavy aid from nature forest fires. At least that would solve the problem of giant spiders.

no oxygen and you'll die
double it and you'll die too.
you exist be cause the way it is. it's not here for you, you're here because of it.
my question is to whom you're saying thank you?

and if we get too much oxygen in the air, wouldnt the air itself become flammable and explode at the slightest spark

too much oxygen - smokers will blow up up
stop ******* smoking people
#29 to #9 - killerofcows ONLINE (12/21/2013) [-]
for omething to burn you need
1. flamable object
2. heat
3. oxygen

so air itself would still not be flammable, however any ignition that happen would have 3 times bigger flames, but not warmer or self ignitions, only differnece would be how much easier a fire spread

and yes casual smokers would probely stop, but anyone that would like to risk their life lightning a cigaret only to smoke it 3 times as fast would still do it... unless ofc smoking areas are to hard to get to (any country were its not illegal to smoke inside would soon have those ^^)
User avatar #47 to #29 - konradkurze (12/21/2013) [-]
well up to a certain point yes it would just be bigger flames, but then when the oxygen gets too high the general air itself would be flammable and pretty much the planet would be on fire

given how most smokers dont give a **** when or where they feel a need to light up, at least one will ignore the warnings, light a smoke and kill us all
#49 to #47 - killerofcows ONLINE (12/21/2013) [-]
I got no idea if it can be proven or not

but as far I could tell bigger flames would always be the case, air cant just ignite, there has to be something in the air to be flamable at whatever heat you reach
User avatar #51 to #49 - konradkurze (12/21/2013) [-]
well air cant just ignite but id say the more oxygen as a fuel would make al other gases more likely to ignite
User avatar #50 - thekingofwubs (12/21/2013) [-]
Wouldn't they just double in size? it wouldn't be like there growing 3 feet, right?

what if all the electrons in the world disappeared/
WE'd all float away from each other
except there'd be no us
cause that's what we're made of
but it would still happen

#32 - mathafaka (12/21/2013) [-]
better mileage? Ithink the double as air would make more airfriction and slow down your car
#34 to #32 - anon (12/21/2013) [-]
It's not double the air, it's double the air's oxygen content, meaning instead of 21% oxygen our atmosphere would be 42% oxygen. Air resistance would stay the same.
#48 to #34 - mathafaka (12/21/2013) [-]
I am very sorry

i find the order of positive effects amusing. u start talking about the bad things that can happen with temporary loss of oxygen and when u transition to the next segment u begin with "paper airplanes would fly further"
