But still, how would you like to die? I'm pretty sure getting your face punted in with a salt lick and your brains flying everywhere isn't very dignifying.

Amata is the Overseer's (evil overlord of the vault) daughter. She helps you escape when he tries to kill you at the start. Dialogue options make it seem like she's a possible love interest. Then you get a quest to go back to the vault and sort some **** out, and she makes you leave again, with no possible way to get back in.
User avatar #13 to #9 - sircool (10/16/2013) [-]
dude leaves home to find dad. Dude returns home after hearing its in trouble. Dude settles civil war in home. Best-childhood friend tells you to get lost after and never come back. The above is the dude's reaction to that.
#11 to #9 - tankdempsy (10/16/2013) [-]
Amata was a friend since the day you were born in Follout 3, you stuck up for her when she got bullied and other things. Because your father left in the Vault you live in (which basically is a underground city) you had to go search to find him. but your father left the city in chaos so you had to leave as well. she helped you escape the vault.
Some time later (when you reach level 30) she'll send out a radio signal asking for your help. so you proceed to help her fix the vault (solve the problems in the vault) so after you fix her problems she doesn't ask you for the D so in short...
Amata is an ungrateful bitch who doesn"t want the D. and never thanks you for anything.
can i help you with anything else?

what a cunt. I honestly killed them all in that vault. except for the douchebag who you helped as a kid. he gave you that badass jacket and showed gratitude for saving him his mom and everyone else. but not amata, no. her gratitude was "thanks for coming to our rescue again, sorry you still don't get to have sex with me before you die even though you're now the baddest of badasses. instead of rewarding you like I obviously should how about you get the **** out of my vault" I replied with pulling out my plasma gun and turning her into a pile of, well, plasma.

Same thing happens in fallout 1. You find the water chip and save your vault from super mutants and then the overseer exiles you because you might inspire the other vault dwellers to leave. Then you shoot him so hard his body splits in half. Fun **** .

And even if you break the water purifier and force them out but convince her it was butch she still loves you for 3 seconds until you leave. Then later in the game theres a chance that you will see Amata being held captive by the enclave. If you save her even after all the nice things you've done ( remember she doesn't know that you ****** with the water chip ) she still says something like ''Oh my god! get away from me you monster!'' Then she proceeds to walk until either you kill her or after a while she runs into some rad scorpions. **** amata

Not exactly, but there are a lot of rumours, as expected,
But there are a lot things that may hint towards it, like this:
"Not much is known about the setting of Fallout 4 so far. When asked to give hints as to the setting of the next Fallout game, Jason Bergman said (translated from Norwegian), "You'll get no tips from me. But the Mojave Wasteland was a fun place to explore, wasn't it?" " via Fallout Wiki; and not to mention that in 2004, Bethesda purchased the rights to make 3 Fallout games (Fallout 3, New Vegas, and probably Fallout 4).

"See Amanda and Vault 101 douches talking to Enclave"? Since when do the Enclave go to Vault 101?
#119 to #33 - darthan (10/16/2013) [-]
It's a random encounter you get as you travel the Capitol Wasteland, that after this quest Amata will be talking with the enclave, they'll ask her about the Vault's location, and then they kill her or you can kill them.

If you kill them, then she blames you lol

Okay I am ready to give my honest to god opinion on this matter. I am one of the very few people in the world who stood by her decision. Think about it, If Amata did let you stay a good 50% of the vault will hate you. Now don't get me wrong those people are massive blind cunts.... BUT they are her citizens. And with things as fragile as they were there was a massive chance that another civil war would brew. Amata had to make a decision based on what a rational leader would do; any decent leader would have done the same. If you guys thought there was gonna be a sort of happy ending after your father created mass chaos by leaving the vault then I say you stop playing fallout. The choice was harsh but the choice was also an agreeable one.

User avatar #140 to #113 - akkere ONLINE (10/16/2013) [-]
It would've been better if she at least sat down and explained to you why she has to make that decision than just sit there and go "Look, you gotta like, go. Like, now."
It's acceptable to feed a bullet to someone if it's absolutely necessary in securing the welfare of the group; it's unacceptable to deny the person who has to bite the bullet the right to some kind of proper explanation and closure, especially if they were willing to go back and help fix things beforehand.
#142 to #140 - bdawg ONLINE (10/16/2013) [-]
It was mostly in a rush though. She had to do so much things. And not gonna lie yeah it sucks but life is unfair and sometime you get the worst of the worst.
User avatar #146 to #142 - akkere ONLINE (10/16/2013) [-]
Yeah, becoming the overseer of one of the last final salvation points of humanity isn't exactly the easiest thing to have to sit through, but by the same token it's not like she couldn't consider other options, like having you win back the populace's admiration by helping to rebuild and expand. Either way, it's not like having a little sit-down explanation would've taken forever, and this WAS her childhood friend.
The whole affair kind of seemed more like an attempt at referencing what happened in a former Fallout game where you got kicked out by an overseer instead of being an actual stand-alone point, anyway.
Besides, I kind of doubt Amata maintained any strong leadership to the vault . She's not a bad person per se, and maybe under different circumstances she'd fit the bill, but I don't think I could see her having the self-capability to enforce a vault of people who are already on edge as it is. If she was caved into sending her childhood friend away without considering other options - could she really maintain the iron stance required to keep that vault in one piece?
User avatar #167 to #113 - darkangeloffire (10/16/2013) [-]
While I saw her side, the Vault citizens could've used the protection of the Lone Wanderer. Since he/she basically beat the Super Mutants and the Enclave into Oblivion (either solo or with a companion) and saved many lives (if you didn't go through your playthrough as an evil person). I know what James did was radical, but they're really unfairly blaming the Lone Wanderer for his/her father's actions. They're, as you put it, blind cunts. I still disagree with the decision, but I see what Amata was doing.

User avatar #137 to #50 - schneidend (10/16/2013) [-]
Not sure why you hate Ashur. He's doing one of the only logical paths available. He does not have a GECK or access to any advanced stores of knowledge or technology like the NCR had early on when they partnered up with Vault City. Slave labor is a fact of life for advancing a pre-industrial society. Though, the Pitt is arguably industrial because it has the steel mill, it does not yet have any of the other advancements, cultural or scientific, that came along with progressing to that point.

User avatar #87 to #86 - viscerys (10/16/2013) [-]
That's what I thought too, but the Karma system provides data for the NPCs to derive their reactions from. Good characters also make more sense in Fallout 3. I mean, the guy/girl was raised comfortably in a Vault by a doctor who also happens to be Liam Neeson. So, the first thing he does after leaving is blow up a town with women and children? Doesn't work in my mind.

All because he had all those things doesnt mean he cant grow up to by psychotic and harmful. The only thing that really directly combats that is the father figure though I agree. The Pitt is meant to conflict your morals. That's why almost nothing makes you lose karma except what would make you normally lose karma. You steal the baby and you save all those slaves, but if you don't steal the baby then she can have a safe life with her parents, while they try to rebuild Pittsburgh. Ashur doesn't want slaves, but they're the only way that city is going to be rebuilt, so your character is not the only one with conflicting morals.

I don't understand this post. But I thumbed because you didn't say banana.

Fallout 3 Quest

In the begining, you leave the vault (setting of the picture) for a reason and Amata (girl obviously) can take this initially as a good thing or bad thing, depending on how violent your leave was, AKA you kill her dad or save her life or both

60% through the game later, Amata invites you back because the Vault has a new leader and is being a bastard and you have to stop him because you the Main Character. If he steps down, Amata becomes the new leader, but she kicks you out, despite saving everyone, and locks the door behind you.

There's another mission where you go back to the Vault and help them get things straight. Then you're cast out because the people don't feel safe with you around or something.

I loved this game but one thing that always pissed me off is how the combat shotgun in that game literally makes zero sense and would not function whatsoever in real life.
User avatar #73 to #45 - Nameloc (10/16/2013) [-]
It takes the design of a PPSH.

Now, if you dislike fictional items in fictional games, then I can't really help you there.
User avatar #99 to #73 - lyiat ONLINE (10/16/2013) [-]
Yeah, the firing mechanism still doesn't work. The rounds wouldn't be anywhere near the chamber with the magazine so far ******* forward. The PPSH still does work, the shotgun... not so much.
User avatar #74 to #73 - roliga (10/16/2013) [-]
Yeah it's obvious enough that it takes on the shape of it but the internal firing mechanism would make no sense if it tried using a PPSH's firing mechanism
User avatar #100 to #45 - effthree ONLINE (10/16/2013) [-]
It would make a little more sense if the drum and what I am assuming by the texture is the pump were switched around, as far as feed goes
User avatar #111 to #45 - heartlessrobot (10/16/2013) [-]
That's why you use the double barreled.
User avatar #127 to #111 - smithforprez (10/16/2013) [-]
the cut dbl barrel, pa's fishing aid is hilarious with stealth armor, its got 2x the number of pellets and can crit 18 times in one shot
User avatar #114 to #45 - PVTDickStryker (10/16/2013) [-]
What if.......what if.....The gas tube isnt really a gas tube.......but a mechanism that pushes back the shells from the drum, through a hollow fixture in the grip, into the chamber...?
User avatar #157 to #45 - nightmaren (10/16/2013) [-]
Because the rest of the game is 100% plausible and realistic and isn't fantasy or sci-fi in any way shape or form.
#126 to #45 - poorjew (10/16/2013) [-]
I only have a little knowledge about firearms, but could it work like that?
With 2 shells always remaining inside, i mean it's called the Terrible Shotgun.
User avatar #134 to #126 - unpricedcdn (10/16/2013) [-]
The shells would not be able to feed, as the trigger assembly would be in the way. The feed system would be a gas piston, whose timing would not line up with the bolt. A delay method would be needed. Since gas is used to push shells toward the chamber, the bolt would be carried by recoil, and there is not enough room for a return spring in the receiver. I don't really care how they designed it though, it was good for blowing peoples heads into a million pieces.
User avatar #48 to #45 - trollzoll ONLINE (10/16/2013) [-]

What a lot don't understand is that this was suppose to mirror the ending of Fallout 1, in which after defeating the Master and the Children of The Cathedral, the vault dweller is banished from the home he/she saved, for identical reasons as in Fallout 3
User avatar #172 to #164 - pigglysumbeech (10/17/2013) [-]
Except they were banish for different reasons.

Great story telling, Captain Ahab.

I want the next Fallout to be more like Fallout 3.

Keep survival mode and iron sights from New Vegas, but I'd like the story and the layout of the maps can be more like Fallout 3.
User avatar #171 - pigglysumbeech (10/17/2013) [-]
Never once did I play this game and AMATA ended up as overseer. It was always the first guy or his main guard...

Can't remember their names.. it has been almost 5 years since I last played the game.

Something like Kimball or other was the other guy.
