I've lived in my apartment for a few years now, and there's this knocking in one of the walls.
The knocking started a few months after I moved in and I didn't think anything of it, just the neighbours doing something weird I guess.
It usually starts at night, around 1 or 2 AM and it often startles me pretty bad because there's no warning or anything.
The first thing that bothered me was the sound of the knocking, it didn't sound like someone was knocking on the wall, but it was more metallic, or plastic sounding. I thought it was just pipes acting up or something, but there's two problems with that though, first of all the wall is really thin, and the knocking doesn't sound like knocking on pipes.
It's a really high pitched knocking and pretty loud, it doesn't sound like it's coming from within the wall at all. It sounds more like it's coming from inside my apartment.
There's also no real pattern in the knocking. Sometimes it knocks three times and just stops, other times it knocks for a few hours but with a few minutes between each knock, sometimes it knocks five or six times, each knock faster and louder than the other.
Of course, now I just ignore it, I've grown used to it.
There's a problem though... The neighbours that lived in the apartment next to me moved out a few days ago, and I just heard the knocking again. I realized that the knocking hasn't stopped at all since they moved out. I'm kind of freaked out right now.
FJ, what do?
