It's a quote from the newest Captain America film. It's what the Neo-Nazi Hydra peeps say to eachother.

I summon comicexplain to explain further because I don't know too much about Captain America or Hydra.
User avatar #27 to #23 - comicexplain ONLINE (04/24/2014) [-]
(zarallyn) No, you mostly got it! Hydra was a rogue Nazi unite, with aspirations to rule the world, and kill anyone who doesn’t fit their vision. Hail Hydra is basically saying ‘hail Hitler’, only much, much worse! The Red Skull was so evil, Hitler himself didn’t want to be in the same continent as him!
User avatar #28 to #27 - zarallyn ONLINE (04/24/2014) [-]
Either way, thanks for the explaination

i'm not trying to bash Christianity but if you hear the ads they have online and on radio and stuff doesn't it seem a little like fear inducing? like they're trying to scare you into religion? only jesus can save, so if you don't come here you're going to hell. just seems weird to me
#19 to #12 - anon (04/24/2014) [-]
The funny thing is, I disagree with these ads despite being a die-hard catholic. Reason being is that if we choose to bring people into any church by using the "victim's" fear of punishment, then we sin, and we cause the other person to sin. It's written that if you try to "save" yourself from punishment, (rather than reject your sin because of how much it hurts God) you only end up losing your soul.

As a Catholic we don't believe in advertising our religion anyways. Funny how churches do this, but only make it worse.

Doing the same thing Islam was doing the last 50 years.

Religion through oppression, suppression and repression.

It will most likely not reach islam state since you have freedom of speech, but if you keep it up it will be, there is a difference between freedom of belief and religion and there is oppression.

It also should not reach the point where anti-opression becomes oppression in itself (like "feminazi", "Fat shamming", "Asshole Atheists", "LGBT superiority" ...etc) , just let people free to do what the **** they want.
User avatar #65 to #63 - suppression (04/24/2014) [-]
It's true. I suppress people.
User avatar #66 to #12 - luckyspirit (04/24/2014) [-]
Yeah I've noticed it too. From what I can tell, it's always been about scaring the populace with uncertainty to get more followers and in turn increase the amount of money they can get.
User avatar #41 to #12 - legamethatyoulost (04/24/2014) [-]
As a Christian it disappoints me how much churches try to "scare" religion into people. We're called to spread the Word of God by using the love and mercy of Jesus Christ as an example, not "if you don't repent you will die in hellfire and stay there for eternity!" while it is what we believe, it's not the right way to bring people in.
User avatar #45 to #41 - nigeltheoutlaw (04/24/2014) [-]
Why have the threat of everlasting torment if it isn't used as a tool to win converts? God might as well not bother if it's not used as leverage to get him more worshipers.
#48 to #12 - sedativechunk (04/24/2014) [-]
I totally agree with you. A short story, for a religious class in college a few years ago I had to visit a church for one sitting. TBH I didn't go but I did write about an experience I had in high school. I used to be in a professional choir group (we didn't do silly show tunes but serious music like Mozart and etc.). Well Christmas time hit and we had to go to a local church to do a few choir pieces.
This was no ordinary church; it was a die hard Christian church. And despite us being a school group that had nothing to do with religion, they REALLY shoved the religious stuff down our throats. I mean we sat there for hours before even singing, and they made us sit through their whole xmas thing. Even the choir teacher was getting pissed. I remember sitting there being bored ******** and getting aggravated with all the religous crap they were making us take part in...

My problem with this group anyway was that they were extremist Christian's. I mean, they laid it on us thick and we were just there as a courtesy to do some musical pieces. And the **** that this church focused on, it was like "scary" stuff like you are talking about. Like they threaten little kids if they don't partake in their religion, jesus, and etc. they will burn in the firey pits of hell for all eternity.
I hate that **** . Kids should be educated on religion but not forced or scared into it. I'm personally an agonstic. My family is catholic but I just find religion in general hard to swallow. Science disproves too many things in religion and I am a scientist.

On a side note, I also missed an opportunity to date a very good female friend because she was christian. I really liked her but she went ape **** down the religious path and I think she didn't want anything to do with an outsider. sorry for the wall of text (just avoiding studying for college finals).
User avatar #70 to #48 - semilunarknight (04/24/2014) [-]
As a Christian I have to say I get highly aggravated when I see people doing stuff like this. Talking to kids about hell should be classified as harassment, if they ask about it out of curiosity all you should say is that it's a bad place or you don't believe it's real or something like that, but don't scare the kid. It's not alright to manipulate a child, under any circumstances.
Religion should come with an 18 and over sign. Just my opinion
#13 to #12 - twentyandahalf (04/24/2014) [-]
As a Christian, I cringe a little when I see other Christians trying to outreach like that. Trying to scare people isn't the way to get them to come to faith and never has been, and it gives us a stigma that we're all preachy and holier than thou. We're not. Most of us are just regular people with a religion who want to tell others about it.

Why are there Christians outside a comic book convention? All it is are a bunch of nerds who dressup and meet their favorite artists actors or whatever. They aren't gonna summon the antichrist or anything.

I don't know, Christians were convinced that people playing Dnd back in the day were literally casting spells and trying to summon demons.
