Not quite, but interesting.
"Triceratops fans shouldn’t despair at the finding, though. Scientists will now reclassify all torosaurus as triceratops."
#10 to #5 - Rascal (07/14/2014) [-]
thing is though, this isnt a settled matter. many paleontologists hold that triceratops and torosaurus were 2 separate genuses. i personally think they're different

Could somebody post a picture of how mount Rushmore would look like in 30000 year.
User avatar #27 - thinkwithportals (07/14/2014) [-]
Wait, what is mount rushmore going to look like 30,000 years?
User avatar #28 to #27 - playerdous (07/14/2014) [-]
Pretty much the same, it's just designed with great forethought.

The way it says the "true nature" it sounds like it's going to be a weapon.
User avatar #11 - hhanako (07/14/2014) [-]
didn't they just redo mt rushmore because it was so eroded?
User avatar #12 to #11 - playerdous (07/14/2014) [-]
There's annual work done for erosion prevention, last about a week every year.
User avatar #13 to #12 - hhanako (07/14/2014) [-]
so what's the point of having that "30k years of erosing exposing the true statue" bulldigestive end product?
User avatar #14 to #13 - playerdous (07/14/2014) [-]
The design left a layer that would allow for erosion to naturally take place over the course of 30k years. The annual work is to make sure other unnatural sources of erosion aren't taking place.
User avatar #15 to #14 - hhanako (07/14/2014) [-]
unnatural erosion?
User avatar #16 to #15 - playerdous (07/14/2014) [-]
People and animals.
User avatar #17 to #16 - hhanako (07/14/2014) [-]
i can understand people (chipping off pieces to take home like they did with the plymouth rock) but animals seems to me like a natural part of erosion
User avatar #18 to #17 - playerdous (07/14/2014) [-]
People are animals too, everything we do is technically natural. It just depends on where you draw the line. I view unnatural as the outliers, the things that don't usually happen.
