I'm a firm believer in letting the player play however they want, taking out an aspect instead of improving it seems like a step back to me.

alapazama (09/12/2015) [-] the point is that it's an open-world parkour/freerunning game. instead of letting Faith use guns, they want the player to focus more on parkour take downs and avoidance tactics. i believe that this is the reasoning behind it, I think that there are some interviews somewhere about it

Trading in long range combat for temporary immortality. That makes so little sense.

Jwako (09/12/2015) [-] I understand where you're coming from, but every game shouldnt have everything. Mirrors Edge is a game that focuses on parkour and such, close quarter combat should be preferred anyway. The part that i was most disappointed in is how most attacks are context sensitive now and you can't, for example, wallrun kick if theres no enemy in front of you. Im still hype for it.

Say you have an alley being watched by an enemy, you'd have to run through catch on some **** and climb your way up to get to the enemy. Well say the Devs weren't perfect, they make some of the jumps so ridiculously hard to make, and you have to do them while bullets are whizzing by you.
Some would rather line up, snipe that guy down, then focus on trying to get through the level.
Now I'd imagine they'd have something against this, being open world and all, you could probably find an alternate path. But backtracking to go find a better route isn't Flow, that breaks the flow more than anything.
**** , why not have different challenge settings? Like [Nofuns Mode], say if you're better at the game you turn on all these challenges, but for people either not MLG leet or just looking to **** around could leave them off.

Jwako (09/12/2015) [-] Yeah, if possible the game should have all these cool ways to play and multiple ways to approach every problem, but budgets arent infinite and all that. It would be cool to have all that in the game i agree, but i understand why the gunplay would be the thing they cut out if something needs to be cut.
