trying to save their true ending eternally so it could never be tour: hed and
reset and everybody would live on in their own digital universe
**** like copying the save to a flash drive and hiding it or lot king it in an

The best part about him is he doesn't even try to kill you. When you're health gets low enough he "captures" you and you can fight him again. After three tries he lets you past.

I did a genocide run. I thought killing Toriel would be the hardest. She wasn't. I've never felt like such an asshole as when I killed Papyrus. I couldn't even end the genocide run, after killing Sans I restarted and did a pacifist run

At least you felt regret. Me, I can't do that. To me, getting through them all means beating the game. If I turn away from the genocide route, it means I've failed. Thus, I press on with determination.

I'm stuck for now though. Been so since yersterday. Pic related; Its my game open right now.

If you have the Steam version, it'll be rough. Undertale saves in a few different spots, and Steam keeps local data in its cloud - even if you do a reinstall, the stuff that causes the pacifist/genocide ending will linger. There's a program somewhere that you can use to cleanse that, I don't have a link though.

Its because it's quirky and 'original' in its design. The falling in love with the characters I don't really get, they're barely above Saturday morning cartoon characters in terms of depth, I guess I missed something there.
Do I think its a good game? Eh, 7/10 sure. Do I think its GOTY? No, mainly when you apply some thought into it. That and all the feelsy stuff felt forced...Very forced. "Feel bad for me even though I tried to kill you with fire." No. And the fact almost every character is like that just really turned me off of it.

I liked everything about Undertale except the parts where you'd supposed to feel bad for killing someone. They reminded me of Spec Ops: The Line, where the game throws some soldiers at you, who shoot you in the face, if you don't shoot them in the faces first and then goes "*gasp* I never told you to shoot those innocent heavily armed professional soldiers. You didn't have to kill them, even though killing them is literally the only way to progress the game. You're a bad person.". It felt so forced. Like, how the **** am I supposed to feel bad for shanking someone who has been trying to kill me for the last hour? If you're trying to kill me, I'm punching you in the dick. I don't even care if you have one or not, I will find a way to punch you in the dick. I will go out, procure a dick, surgically attach it to you and then punch you in it. You hear me, ya fishy dyke?

Except in Undertale killing them is not literally the only way to progress into the game. And if you mean it in order to get the Genocide ending, the point of the Genocide route all the way up to the final boss fight is to make you quit and reset and take the alternative ending.

The VN was godlike, felt nice playing something that wasn't just a dating VN like Majikoi

I've been told the anime is slow, but when I watched it like a week ago, it didn't feel like that at all. The VN is fully translated, and can be purchased or torrented wherever. Look for JAST when you torrent it.

The Anime is also dubbed if you prefer it, and it's actually a pretty good dub, although some jokes were changed like the part where its a Japanese man speaking ****** english to a fluent english speaker.

The Undertale fandom has been reeking of the same kind of autism that haunts series like Steven universe, MLP, Yugioh, Sonic, and Pokemon etc. etc.
From what I can tell It's not as bad as Steven universe or MLP fandom wise but it's worse than Pokemon or yu-gi-oh.

Then again judging a game or a TV series on it's visible fanbase is kind of stupid because Fanboys and girls are pretty much irrelevant seeing as how they make up a a very small percentage of the overall fans of the series and most serious creative types try not to let their ravings sway them.

The Toriel and Sans thing was (somewhat) hinted at in the game so people just rolled with it. I've seen great fan art, but a good amount of the fans do seem to be obsessed with the characters.

eh, I don't replay any games with multiple endings, it ruins the story because in my mind when I go back to think what happened I think fondly about the first play through and how much of an experience it was but then when I go back through it again it stops being an experience and starts being 'just a game'

Same goes for those 'choose your adventure' type books, who wants to see what's down the other path? I chose my path and I'm sticking with it **** face.

that kind of sucks unless they make the second play through different enough to an extent that it doesn't feel repetitive- but if they do that you're not really doing a second playthrough it's just a continuation of the first play through with similar situations and levels and such...

kinda.

the story in undertale is sorta face ******* the fourthwall the whole time. so the idea of "replaying the game" is canon to the universe. your second playthrough will be marginally the same, but the story will be different. with some huge varieties to boot (pacifist versus neutral)

then there is the third option that also changes some major things for the pacifist route...

basically tho, you haventh beaten the game if you just playthrough it once. since the real ending and the real end boss fight requires you to play it twice.

To be entirely fair, I doubt this is "Worse". The FNAF rush lasted, for what, A month and a half? The Avatar Cycle for.. three months, I think? Or it might have been two every time a new season came out. MLP lasted for forever, renewing itself eternally because constantly more episodes / Seasons.

This will probably die out before long, given no new content update being possible on the game.

That is a point, yes. Except I somehow doubt they ever will. The game has given you a precedence, and following that up with some nilly-willy cash-grab will only serve to throw the game's reputation in the dump. People will have expectations for any subsequent games in the series, and most likely; any sequels will never live up to that.

That's kinda...if I'm honest, that's creepy. I get it's a good game, but it's just a game.

I've gotten immersed in games, I've cared for characters deeply before, but never to a point where I've done something that....odd.

Eh. The game remembers you when you go back through. I was playing the demo for example, and when I got to Toriel (community affectionately refers to her as "Goat Mom") she asked why I was looking at her like I knew something she didn't.

After killing her the second time (solely to see if Flowey says anything differently if you just kill everyone), Flowey commented, asking how many times I'm going to kill her.

On a side note: Megalovania only plays during the Genocide run fight with Sans. Megalomania is defined as "obsession with the exercise of power." which isn't exactly something that Sans displays. It would, however, be something that YOU would display in a genocide run. Given that you take every possible opportunity to kill something. Megalovania isn't Sans' theme. It's yours.

well in genocide you have to farm monsters to the point of no random battles ocurring on that area and no mercy is neutral run where you show no mercy

I cant speak for the murder path but the story is great and the characters are lovable. The battles can get a bit monotonous but there's usually some interesting text in them like the main character trying to flirt with the enemy instead of trying to kill it.

There are 3 ways to play it:

Genocide - kill everyone and prepare for the horrors ahead for your sins. Unlocks ending (1)
Neutral - kill atleast 1 boss but also mercy atleast 1 boss. Unlocks neutral ending (2)
Pacifist run - don't kill anyone. Unlocks true ending. (3)

When game starts you put in your name. Any name will do
Special names:
Frisk - will put game into Hard Mode
Bane - ???
