Take any companion that his hostile to brotherhood to any brotherhood outpost. The Corser is best. Let him tank knights. Step behind knight and pop the core. Let Corser do work. Free armor and frame.
Never had that happen to me. Done it a few times and the fusion core detonation doesn't seem to do much, if any, damage to the armor, or even the guy wearing it. Then again, those instances involved letting someone who was technically friendly to me be slaughtered by someone else.
Fusion cores have the same detonation power as a nuke mine. Hence the perk that allows you to eject then at enemies with devastating effects. If you are playing on normal or above it will always destroy the bottom part of t60 armour, removing the legs from the frame. While not harming thr person in them
If you are doing it during combat and they are mobile and running they may escape the blast zone. I did it without aggroing them first (because you can shoot it out without making them hostile) and it always removes the two legs and places them with zero health in the person wearing them inventory, the damage output of the fusion core is almost double what it takes to destroy the legs completely if they're standing right by it.
That would explain it. Still, I wouldn't worry about the legs of a T-60 set. You can get a *********** of those later on during a certain mission, and just hunting those guard posts/patrols down and waiting on a knight to **** himself.
The only place I've ever found a full set of that is in the....Tower 13 I think it was called. Up on the top guarded by some robots. Everywhere else is always missing something. Usually a right arm.
Supposedly the chances of finding pieces of an X Series start at around level 25 and go up as you level up, I am over level 50 and am still finding sets full of t45 pieces. Maybe I'm just getting bad luck rolls this playthrough
You probably did the same thing I did on my first play through and went exploring. If you go into a cell that has an armor spawn, it spawns relevant to your level and then stays that way. It doesn't respawn. So I ended up with a lot of T-45 my first time.
I also see a lot of people recommending the high 30s for X type spawns. Even though 25 is possible, the chance is super low.
I definitely entered some cells and spawned low level armor early, but I also definitely didn't enter some cells until I was in the fifties and still got pretty low level armor. Stupidly, instead of just looking up how the spawn system works I left some of the armor alone and kept coming back later to see if it respond with better armor. Oh well.
