The wild bobcats are fickle creatures in their natural environments.
Here, the male is trying to attract the female by showing off his attachments.
This one appears to be courting the female with his wire digger attachment.
While this may be a fascinating, impressive show, the female does not seem to notice.

And along comes another male, wishing to court with the female bobcat
He comes packing with a large bucket scoop.
This however, is all for not as he is also ignored by the female

Here, a Bobcat and and two Caterpillars seem to have met.
While this may appear harmless and cute, they are actually about to fight to the death. Bobcats and Caterpillars are mortal enemies and fight for territory in the wild.
This fight can last for hours and much oil will be spilled in the process.
Such a sad tale for such noble creatures.

What is this?
The much larger, "Alpha-male" caterpillar seems to be approaching the young caterpillars and Bobcat just before the duel between these two inexperienced machines go at it for their right to challenge the alpha male.
He watches on as the bloodbath begins.

With the odds against the Bobcat, the Caterpillars gang up and decapitate the Bobcat.
The Alpha Caterpillar will get first pickings when syfining gas from the Bobcat.
The smaller Caterpillars must wait before they can syfin gas for themselves.
The Bobcats body will be left to rust, while its bucket will be taken back to the Caterpillar den as a trophy.

The fellow bobcats can do nothing but sit back in sheer horror as the young bobcat is messily devoured by the alpha-male caterpillar. Only when the alpha male has had his fill, do the younger, weaker caterpillars get a chance to dine on such a young specimen of the machinus bobcatin family.
This baby has just witnessed its older relative being gobbled up and will most likely, yet foolishly, seek revenge.

Before the younger Caterpillar's can challenge the Alpha male, an Elephant Caterpillar comes to the scene. The sight of this behemoth is enough to disperse the other Caterpillars back to there den. While they may be angry, they are not foolish enough to challenge this colossal giant. Meanwhile, the tiny bobcat begins training. Becoming stronger and stronger.

The youngest bobcat runs for cover.
He does not dare challenge the mechanical behemoth head on.
He must gain strength.
Until then, he must find shelter and hunker down for the night.
Once the young earthmover has settled into his new home.
He must start a new life as a motherless young bobcat

With winter fast approaching, it need to adapt to its new environment.
The now growing Bobcat manages to hunt down a new snow removal attachment.
With this it can train to fight other Bobcats and Caterpillars in the upcoming spring
Like a dog shedding its winter coat, once spring comes it too will shed its attachment.

Throughout the frigid and hostile winter months, the young and weak bobcat has not only gotten stronger than what it once was, but has also matured,
Growing in it's first earth scoop
The now mature bobcat is now confident enough to stand up to the elephant caterpillar.
But it still very distant from challenging such a terrifying beast

Flash forward a few months to spring.
The Bobcat has grown a grappling attachment over the remaining winter months.
It uses the new attachment to grasp its prey and opponents, crushing them mercilessly.
But with the onset of spring, this machine has other things on its mind.
#29 to #25 - roflstorm (11/20/2013) [-]
One of the many things on the maturing creatures mind is fighting for dominance in his territory. Ignore the human
His first opponent seems to be a rival caterpillar. About the same age. Who has grown wheels and looks to be quite more agile than the adolescent bobcat.

The backhoe strikes first! Flinging dirt using its rear apparatus at the Bobcat.
The Bobcat is easily able to dodge the oncoming attack and clenches the rear tire.
The Caterpillar lets out a blood curdling *vroom* as its tire deflates.
While the creature is damaged, it has the strength to free itself.
