Seriously, 150+ books a year? That's a book every two days, is she reading the collected works of Dr. Seuss? Because that doesn't count for anybody literate enough to form sentences of their own. And 50-100 pages of peer reviewed research daily is impossible. You can't just sit down and read those, it takes a lot of time to properly understand and interpret them. You could get 10 pages an hour max if you're actually reading them correctly. Unless she has completely forsaken eating and sleeping in favor of reading, it's just not possible. On the real though, if we could take all the ******** that chick's spewing we'd be able to fertilize the entire USofA.

i rarely comment, but i had to open an exception on this one. jokes aside i couldn't help but b mad at how pretentious cunts these people are because they 'read'. it's not about how many books you read, it's about how and why you read.

this one time i was talking with a chick and told her i was reading a book (it happened to be the outsider. i like philosophy and **** , yo) and she told me it was such a tiny book, she read it in an afternoon. i tried to explain to her it's not how long it takes to read it, you got to understand it (some parts of the book i still don't) but she just kept on changing the subject.

yes, i mad. I'm mad at all you cunts who read out of some sense of superiority

I gotta say, this little bastard's starting to grow on me. He's like that one ****** friend in the group we only keep around to rag on, but he's a persistent little ****** and I gotta respect that. He's kept his schtick up longer than anyone else I can remember. That and he's genuinely beginning to show some personality of his own and not just complete douchebaggery. He's by far the most dynamic troll we've ever had. He's also completely benign, all he does is post Bieber pics, no hate speech, no religion bashing, no ********** , just the Biebs. And at a time of so much uncertainty, it's nice to have some constants on this site, even if it is emotionally stunted Canadians. If this is the worst troll we've got on the site I think it says something truly fantastic about this community.

So go forth biebergotswag, continue being the tepid pile of **** that you are. Know that it will be a bittersweet farewell when you finally bid us adieu.

>I read 150+ books a year
>I taught myself to read at three
>books like Hunger Games, Game of Thrones, and Harry Potter aren't "real" books because they're popular
Holy **** , these people are so full of **** . When did reading become a "hur, I'm the smarterest ******** in the room" contest?

"Hunger games, Game of Thrones and Harry Potter are just useless crap and distractions from all the important things that MATTER".
The **** wrote this? Why is it wrong that I enjoy reading stories simply for pleasure, and not long intellectual books on ethical issues or IMPORTANT THINGS?
To tell you the truth... My butt hurts a little from this post.

I feel like everyone who commented totally exaggerated how much they read. Maybe one a month.

When i was a kid, I was a really bad reader (not dyslexic, but pretty bad). Then one night my mom decided to read the first harry potter book to my and my siblings in bed. She thought she would read a few chapters each night.

After she finished the first night, I wanted her to keep reading. When she said no, i took the book from her, and proceeded to read it myself. After that, I quickly became a rather advanced reader. Just because you don't enjoy something does not give you the right to call it "junk".

I somehow get the feeling that these people are the same who would say that games rot your brain, and that there is nothing to be learned from games.

I would argue against that

I wish yahoo would do this but related to a political topic. I doubt half those people read the articles, it seems like they just use every post to copy and paste political agendas. The Yahoo comment section is a scary place indeed.

On a relate note, apparently a decent percentage of teenagers don't know that Harry Potter, Winnie the Pooh, or Twilight were actually books.
