59 WiiUs! So the total RAM of all NESs sold is the same as the total RAM of all WiiUs sold then?

I kid. I love my WiiU. I wish it would sell more. Its a good system and its actually getting quite a few great games.

WiiU just need games.
User avatar #57 to #54 - indecisivejew ONLINE (11/09/2013) [-]
You mean exclusive games like Pikmin 3, Super Mario 3D Land, Wonderful 101, Monster Hunter 3, New Super Mario Bros. U, New Super Luigi Bros. U, Wind Waker HD, Sonic Lost World, Nintendoland, or ZombiU? Or do you mean exclusives slated for next year like Bayonetta 2, Project X, Shin Megami X Fire Emblem, Mario Kart 8, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, Yoshi's Yarn, or Super Smash Bros. 4? Or do you mean multiplats that have unique features with the gamepad including off-screen play like Rayman Legends, Watch Dogs, Splinter Cell Blacklist, Assassin's Creed 4, Batman Arkham Origins, and CoD Ghosts? Or do you mean the dozens of virtual console games from NES, SNES, N64, and Gameboy? Or do you mean games from the Indie developers section in the online store?

Its obviously not as much as the PS3 or 360 library, and its taken it a year to do it, but right now the WiiU catalog is looking a hell of a lot stronger than the Xbox One or the PS4's list, especially in regards to exclusives. Plus its $100 cheaper than PS4 and $200 than Xbox One, and it comes with a free $50 game, so I'd say its a pretty good purchase. Myself and 6 friends all have one, and all of us are extremely happy with it.

I mean Smash bros.

Also rereleasing virtual console games don't count as games.
User avatar #12 to #6 - pwnigator (11/09/2013) [-]
Nobody liked the Wii, when it first came out too. Just wait till the next 3D Mario or Zelda. Wind Waker HD counts too, but seriously, we want a real new game
User avatar #15 to #12 - arrowhead (11/09/2013) [-]
The Wii was sold out for months after its release, maybe because there were no systems released around it like the PS4 and Xboner are going to be, but it was very much so liked when it first came out.
User avatar #63 to #15 - Lordskull (11/10/2013) [-]
PS3 and Wii were both released within a month of each other.....
User avatar #13 to #12 - Lordskull (11/09/2013) [-]
When the Wii first came out all the stores here sold out of them the day they came in for a solid 4 months.
User avatar #23 to #6 - fletching (11/09/2013) [-]
It'd be great if the released some console versions of same of the most seen games. Two games that would rocket sales would be Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon.
#52 to #23 - zsabber (11/09/2013) [-]
All my yess!

Sadly harvest moon is a coin flip game... I love it so much but they either **** it up completely or it's the best game ever
User avatar #56 to #52 - fletching (11/09/2013) [-]
At least if it sucks it's still capable or drawing you in for hours.

I really hate the lack of personality in HM TTOT, but I still play it often.
#59 to #56 - zsabber (11/09/2013) [-]
My first one was Back to Nature and I haven't found a better one in general. I think the series would have turned out better if they had built over it instead of scrapping everything all the time and building it anew.

The only other game that gave me a similar vibe was Save the Homeland and its kinda sequel on PSP.

The second Island game I forgot the exact name had good mechanics and A Wonderful Life had a nice setting and characters, but a very slow pace compared to the ones I played.

I am saddened by the fact MFoMT has more content than FoMT though... They should have been equal...

There is hope yet though. I believe they can give us a good game. I'm hoping for removal of gender-specific stuff in the new games too... like in New Leaf
User avatar #65 to #59 - fletching (11/10/2013) [-]
That and not make boring/unappealing villagers and love interests.
User avatar #64 to #59 - fletching (11/10/2013) [-]
Have you played ANB yet? It's wonderful. Much more interaction possibilities and capable of plenty of customization, including the ability for using other gender clothing and styles.

If they took those ideas as a basis and really put their best foot forward on a console game that has a large town/farm setting which would use the space and not throw in simple pretty scenery then they could really top any of their previous games.
#66 to #64 - zsabber (11/10/2013) [-]
I got the collector's edition of it especially for Megashwy The default name for my first cow since I was young and the game looked good.

Sadly I lost my back bag with everything inside not long after getting it. This also means my 3ds, al my ds and 3ds games, some books, and maybe my psp too are all gone in one go
User avatar #34 to #6 - naitsabesh (11/09/2013) [-]
The best part about the wii u is when i'm sick, or just lazy, i can play it in bed without even turning on the tv.
User avatar #35 to #34 - indecisivejew ONLINE (11/09/2013) [-]
I know, right? I don't think I've actually played Wind Waker or any of my virtual console games on the TV yet, because its so comfy to lay down on the couch and play it in your hands.

Not Thumbing you either way, But generally when you are explaining hard drive space to someone with little or no computer skills, its good to give a reference, whether or not its 100% accurate.. About a month ago a co-worker of mine asked "How much space is 300 gig", I ended up telling him that a movie is about 1gb, the system takes about 50, and newer games take about 10 gig each....
User avatar #20 to #16 - themurp (11/09/2013) [-]
What? Movie under 10 gigs? Madness...

#49 to #38 - someoneforamoment (11/09/2013) [-]
You sure? MKV has really awesome compression. a 1080p movie is 2gb or less.
User avatar #51 to #49 - themurp (11/09/2013) [-]
Yes. Over half the space is lossless surround sound audio though, so the movies are only 5-7 gigs for video.
User avatar #62 to #51 - billybong (11/10/2013) [-]
I used to bother with things like that. But I realized I'd rather 1000 movies of really high quality instead of only 100 of the utmost quality.
User avatar #67 to #62 - themurp (11/10/2013) [-]
I don't have time to watch 1000 movies T.T

Well, if you wanna get pedantic, Technically It's not a HDD it's a ROM (possibly with NVRAM)

But there's nothing wrong with making a comparison against the size of an mp3... 192kbps is pretty standard sampling rate for mp3's nowdays, and 60 secs of that is about 1mb.

It's a good comparison because most people will have a vague idea of the size of MP3's (even if they don't understand sampling rates) compared to say, a HD movie
#8 to #7 - taurusguy (11/09/2013) [-]
I dont like the comparison of nes game to .mp3 because there is not a specified amount for .mp3, it can be higher quality or lower, and that **** affects the space.

My point exactly

Pretty amazing stuff

sort of related:

When the PS1 came out, it had more computing power than the entire US army.

Sadame Hussien tried to buy 300 of them to try to reverse engineer them and turn them into something he could use in the military. He was black listed, and so were several of the countries he was associated with.

my CIS teacher was in the airforce and worked on the first GPS, as well as programmed nuclear bombs, that was something he told me.

As stated by another comment, what saddam bought was ps2's, and not 300, 4000.

Besides, the PS1 did not have more computing power than the entire US army.
Maybe back in the 60's or something like that, but not after.
