The Gwoemul (괴물) is a Korean monster originally from the movie "The Host". It is a fish that has been mutated by formaldehyde, and has thus grown and changed into a super predator stalking the Han River.
While it is an amazing predator, it is apparent that the Gwoemul is designed for and is from the water. Having a very 'tadpole-ish' body, it is supported by two leg-like appendages, each with 6 toe-like pads. These legs are very awkward and the Gwoemul will often stumble and trip when chasing/escaping on land. It's important to note its resilience, as it can take many point blank shotgun shots without dying. It is also immune to chemicals, can stick to walls, and has innate intelligence.
The Gwoemul was very much an ambush predator. Like crocs, it could sit in the water almost invisible, then lunge at its prey. More often, it would trick possible prey (humans being it's first choice) into thinking it was vulnerable by pretending to be sleeping or injured, then surprise its target with a swift take down. It's interesting to note that it eats its prey whole, then regurgitates the bones. This means that it has a metabolism/digestion track like a reptile; allowing it to only eat so often.
While it was a patient hunter, it was at all other times a violent, aggressive beast. Its newfound semi-sentience causes an innate hatred for humans, which it hunts mercilessly. When it hunts, and it is not in a secure area, it will grab its prey with its prehensile tail and swim away swiftly to its lair (which was a sewer near the Han River) to consume later, vomiting the bones back into the water.
