I don't really understand your comment; can you explain it?
User avatar #206 to #197 - MikeLit (11/22/2013) [-]
Mexicans have babies like white people have ***** . Theshrike was implying that this particular Mexican's mother is still under the age of 18 and, therefore, below the legal age of consent for most states in the USA.

people are so ******* annoying. my family is all dominican, and they immigrated properly and legally. if she wanted her mom to be legal, maybe she should take the proper steps to having a legal family, instead of writing stupid words on a piece of cardboard with crayons.

Immigration Lawyers are full of **** , it is better to make the paperwork all by yourself.
#212 to #210 - anon (11/22/2013) [-]
sure, sure, go get some paperwork in Hindi and see how easy it is for you to complete.
User avatar #215 to #212 - toiletpaperkid (11/22/2013) [-]
Hindi? what the **** you are talking about?(northern indian? )
Im talking about the US legal immigration process.
#216 to #215 - anon (11/22/2013) [-]
I meant go try to do some paperwork that is in a foreign language and tell me how easy it is for you to fill out by yourself.
User avatar #218 to #216 - toiletpaperkid (11/22/2013) [-]
Fairly easy, If you really want to immigrate to a country I think that the immigrant must speak the language fluently.

and thanks to that immigration process I am doing, I am currently being held back in my country until I am given a immigrant visa, eventhough it is my right to be given an international student visa(which was denied to me in the US embassy). And I entered the US legally, they still treat me like I were an illegal.

I really don't get why people freak out so much over border enforcement. We can't just let everyone in, we have to have laws.
User avatar #200 to #5 - shuckmywang ONLINE (11/22/2013) [-]
Our country was founded on foreigners. If we never let anyone in, the USA would never have existed. This entire country would still belong to the Native people.

You could just go through the process emigrating her LEGALLY like the millions of immigrants who have come into the US for centuries.
User avatar #172 to #158 - whiteusername (11/22/2013) [-]
Right? I have no sympathy for them, my friend wanted to immigrate to the US, he crossed the border and walked right into an Army recruiting office. Less than a year later he was a legal citizen, and a veteran.

I ******* agree. Let's based our immigration laws off Mexico!

• Mexico welcomes only foreigners who will be useful to Mexican society:
- Foreigners are admitted into Mexico “according to their possibilities of contributing to national progress.” (Article 32)
- Immigration officials must “ensure” that “immigrants will be useful elements for the country and that they have the necessary funds for their sustenance” and for their dependents. (Article 34)
- Foreigners may be barred from the country if their presence upsets “the equilibrium of the national demographics,” when foreigners are deemed detrimental to “economic or national interests,” when they do not behave like good citizens in their own country, when they have broken Mexican laws, and when “they are not found to be physically or mentally healthy.” (Article 37)
- The Secretary of Governance may “suspend or prohibit the admission of foreigners when he determines it to be in the national interest.” (Article 38)
- A National Population Registry keeps track of “every single individual who comprises the population of the country,” and verifies each individual’s identity. (Articles 85 and 86)
- A national Catalog of Foreigners tracks foreign tourists and immigrants (Article 87), and assigns each individual with a unique tracking number (Article 91).
• Mexicans who help illegal aliens enter the country are themselves considered criminals under the law:
- Shipping and airline companies that bring undocumented foreigners into Mexico will be fined. (Article 132)>• The Mexican constitution guarantees that immigrants will never be treated as real Mexican citizens, even if they are legally naturalized.
Article 32 bans foreigners, immigrants, and even naturalized citizens of Mexico from serving as military officers, Mexican-flagged ship and airline crew, and chiefs of seaports and airports:

There's much more too if anyone wants to know. US sure is oppressive, eh?

#120 to #45 - anon (11/22/2013) [-]
Actually Mexico is much harder on foreigners then America ever will but nice try though.
User avatar #101 to #45 - ronyx (11/22/2013) [-]
But in reality, the government of Mexico never or extremely rarely enforces any of those laws. Take a walk on the south border and you'll only see a handful of sleeping officers watching the border. Many of the things you stated are the same rules most other countries use. Not sure if you're being sarcastic or serious because you'll never hear in Mexico of a family being deported or work places being raided to deport people.
User avatar #80 to #45 - thebestpieever (11/22/2013) [-]
That there is a worse place (and believe me, Mexico is way way worse) doesn't mean you can't improve a good place.
User avatar #194 - messerauditore (11/22/2013) [-]
Come into the country the intended way, and you'll be legal in due time. Don't expect the US to cater to your every desire after cheating the system.

I think smoking weed is stupid too, but I think people should have the right to choose to be stupid.
User avatar #142 to #94 - TwiztidNinja (11/22/2013) [-]
But a lot of people who are considered "genius" smoke weed simply because the reality that is life is ******* **** and weed makes it better.
Just sayin, not disagreeing with you stupid people should not smoke weed it does slow you down.
User avatar #163 to #142 - ruebezahl (11/22/2013) [-]
Sorry, if someone actually believes that life is **** , then they seriously either need to seek therapy for depression or need to get their act together and start doing something about it, because we who are living in industrialized countries are having a really sweet deal with a lot of opportunities, and our life can be pretty golden. Smoking weed when you are already failing at dealing with life is the opposite of getting your act together.

There's a significant difference between smoking to relax and for pure enjoyment and for trying ignore whichever first-world problems one might have.
User avatar #165 to #163 - TwiztidNinja (11/22/2013) [-]
I can understand more dimwitted people being content with their ****** meaningless house/wife/job/life without needing something to make you forget the world, they can enjoy things such as religion and an afterlife to look forward to.

being realistic does not equal depression, life is a vast meaningless existence and if someone wants to get high to be able to enjoy that i am fine with it.
User avatar #166 to #165 - ruebezahl (11/22/2013) [-]
Yes, yes. Of course. People who are happy with their life are stupid. That is the reaction I expected. The person who can be happy with their life without drugs is stupid, the person who needs drugs to be happy is smart. Sure. Yes. Right.

If your life is meaningless, change it. If not: an hero. After all, if it's meaningless, then it won't make a difference if you're here or not. In fact, it might make other people's life better, because they won't be called "dimwitted" by you.
User avatar #167 to #166 - TwiztidNinja (11/22/2013) [-]
I never said i do drugs i just understand why a lot of people do.
My drug is adrenaline.
User avatar #182 to #163 - hudis ONLINE (11/22/2013) [-]
I realise this is only vaguely relevant to the discussion, but I just have to elbow my way in to say something since you caught my attention; opportunities don't really matter to people's happiness. A country can have the best life quality in the world, a wide array of opportunities for everyone and such safety and security that you can't imagine. People will still get depressed, because that's how humans work; our happiness is always relative to the situation we're living in. A garbage man in a South African ghetto can very likely have the exact same level of happiness/sadness as a very succesful western man/woman who's had every opportunity and privilege in life and never suffered.

That's why the argument that people in high-GDP countries shouldn't be depressed "because think about the people in Africa" doesn't make sense. It doesn't matter. People will get sad either way, and people will always be desperate for ways to forget, even if it's just for a moment.
