Meanwhile she probably gets paid 1/1000 of the guy throwing the ball behind her.

Welcome to the entertainment industry.

Harder job doesn't always means more income.

Welcome to the real world.

If she could attract a crowd as big as they could she would easily make as much.

User avatar #7 to #6 - oceanmist (11/06/2015) [-]
Well thats because nobody would spend 90$ on a ticket to watch her 3 times a week.
User avatar #8 to #7 - nustix (11/06/2015) [-]
Yeah, that's what I don't like about the entertainment industry. Actors and athletes get paid insane amount of moneys which is totally not proportional with what they actually do for it. Just because for some reason the majority wants to watch a certain sport, they contribute very little to society yet they are at the top of it.
User avatar #11 to #8 - unladenswallow (11/06/2015) [-]
And this woman is contributing something to society? This is the most useless talent I've ever seen.
User avatar #13 to #11 - nustix (11/06/2015) [-]
No I said athletes and actors get overpaid for what they do. I left out that woman because she probably gets paid **** .

You seem to have no idea what you are talking about and how the entertainment industry thrives in certain areas depending on what the public wants to see. Its based on what the populous wants.

The actors and athletes get paid so much because the big dogs make 100 fold what they are paid. They are not paid proportionate to their perceived contribution to society or importance, its on what their skill/usefulness in that particular niche of entertainment is.

Get your head out of your ass.

I do understand, that's the problem. It's just that I think it's horsecrap that it works this way. Ofcourse I understand that actors don't get paid proportionate to their contribution to society otherwise I wouldn't be having this rant.

It's indeed one of those what the populous wants scenarios and it just makes me sad.

That has to be one of the oddest things I have ever seen someone give a slight bit of care about.

"People are paid based on their entertainment value."

What exactly caused these feelings?
User avatar #39 to #21 - nustix (11/07/2015) [-]
The reason I feel this way is because if people would invest the same amount of money in more meaningful ways the world would be a way better place.
User avatar #26 to #8 - StewieGGriffin (11/07/2015) [-]
Actually the highest paid athletes do tend to contribute to society, many NBA players have funds or organizations that they've started in order to help better their community, wether it be personal or a pr move they do tend to help a lot.

>Implying sports fans are real people

The ****** up part is that this isn't even a new thing. I don't know how people who can do this kind of **** aren't automatically world famous.

Some people call this type of stuff a useless skill, but I think they're just jealous of people who work hard to be impressive at something.
User avatar #29 to #5 - tevansroskos (11/07/2015) [-]
I think it's because it is a one time entertainment value thing. Sure it's impressive a few times, but I'm not going to pay to see the same trick over and over.
#10 to #5 - anon (11/06/2015) [-]
I mean it is a useless skill. But it is also an impressive one. So I am not sure whether I agree or disagree with you.
User avatar #14 to #10 - lathyrusvii (11/06/2015) [-]
Agree with certain parts specifically, and disclude, clearly, the parts you disagree with.
