These are the best. Not only are they amazingly cute, but I feel like I'm actually learning about the US Marines. It's such an odd combination but somehow they manage to pull it off.
Holly **** dude. You're not learning a god damn thing about the marines. You don't learn this **** from a ******* comic, you learn it by ******* being there. Then you don't learn a ******* thing because basic doesn't teach you **** .
Current active Marine here, i swear if the women looked half as good as they do on these comics, it would make up for a lot of **** ... but this pretty damn accurate. Only thing they're missing are the " ******** games"
" ******** games" were what the DIs would do to mentally stress the recruits out. They would make you do the simplest tasks over and over again while yelling at you. They would allow punish the whole platoon for one action that a person did. One time we all got IT'd because somebody stole some crackers from the chow hall. He had to eat them in the corner slowly while we paid for his mistakes.
Ha the penut butter shot, i remember that **** , I still remeber reading the graffiti that said "I am litterally butt hurt." horrible times, but I laugh at them looking back now.
I was the same way. Other people literally couldn't walk but it was just kind of tense for me. My di warned us ahead of time and basically said relax while its going in then flex after you get it to help it spread faster. One guy literally pissed himself when it went in. While hilarious it was also sad. He did not graduate with us.
It didn't happen to me because I come from a military family and wore the same type of boots they issue at Reception, but I remember what was worse for most were the blisters from the boots. We had a guy who wasn't very smart and put baby powder on it then cover it with the moleskin. When they removed it it took so much meat off his ankle you could see the bone.
mfw I found this earlier and decided to read all of them, get to the last one released, October 7, 2014. Go on to read that they 'Hope to upload a few more episodes each day until they get back on schedule'. Go to news section, empty.
I don't know anything on the subject, but I believe she is an american ex-marine and I believe was with the military in as a NBCD specialist for several years. You probably didn't notice "Mareen" based in Okinawa"" because it was spelt wrong by original poster.
My god this is basically basic all ogre again. I remember the paper work took us about 9 or 10 hours to complete and they had the clocks covered up so that we wouldn't know what time it was. We went in at about 1700 and weren't done til 600 the next day, then did a good four hour pt regiment after triage and food break. I still have my Bcgs so things could stop bullets and female intteraction
As someone who's enlisted in the USMC I really dont know how to respond to this. It annoys me that most of you will laugh at this but when you see a cringe thread, you believe you're not those people. Its sad to see the most effective and feared military force ever give a weaboo a hard on. /rant
Weeaboos have a way of ruining everything good, we finally got a warship game and the weeaboos instantly jumped on it and took over the BETA test, they make up 75% of the BETA testers on that game and are currently killing it by trying to make it like an anime where little girls captain warships unrealistically.
But drawing a character in an anime-style doesn't mean for being a Weaboo, as an artist, they also wanted to learn too and respect the other's culture and arts from all around the world.
But at least the background in most Japanese Animetion or some in a western animation in matured rating are somewhat good to draw realistic buildings.
No that would be the Nazis, The Nazi campaign on france is recognised by most as the most effective military campaign in history, They not only conquered it fast when france was the worlds most powerful military power they instilled immense fear in the hearts of their enemies.
Call Hitler what you will but his generals were brilliant men deserving of respect for their accomplishments.
Actually in World War 2, The German army is known called as the Wehrmacht, at least they aren't really part of the Nazi Regime, they've only signed the contract as Hitler rise to power, you know Politics are really serious **** back then and today, oh and there's also another military faction known as the SS or Schutz Staffel, but in fact we're just military police, but tougher like the Wehrmacht soldiers.
The more someone tries to use "tough love" to attempt to motivate me, the less I feel like doing whatever they want me to do. I don't get why screaming at people like a child throwing a fit is supposed to help motivate anyone
It's less the instructors yelling at you but the social stigma of being yelled at in front of your entire squad. You want to avoid embarrassment with the people you live and eat with, so you do better. There is always 1 guy who gets the piss taken out of them by the instructors to show an example of "how to be better". Usually that guy knows how to take it well. At least that is how it went for me. The instructors are not what I would call nice people, but they are not evil nor do they hate you.
But I mean, it's not embarrassing when it's just a show? And if they do it even if you haven't done anything wrong, what's the incentive to do anything right?
Hmm, let me think up a better explanation. It is almost like a game, I personally got along well with the person in charge of Officer training a major and So I knew for a fact that he didn't hate any of us. Honestly its the strive to be better than what you currently are that drives you in the Military. Some people join for the money, have no where else to go, pushed by family, etc. The people who want to become Officers however, have a goal in mind and are usually driven for it. There is no reason to go for a career in the Military without actually wanting it. And although it might be a show, you still dont want to be known as the " ****** " of the group. It wont necessarily hurt or help you, but you want to avoid being singled out for doing something wrong. Maybe they shouldnt yell at you, but it reqiures a strong willpower to get through boot camp just on the physical side alone. Mental fortitude is just another aspect they try to teach you by tearing your walls down with yelling.
TL;DR - Being yelled at doesn't hurt you in the long run, if you want to make a career in the Military then get used to it. If you can't, then stay away from situations like that.
I suppose they know that better than me
I'm just glad it's not like that in every type of education. Can you imagine a class of programming students being screamed at by a skinny guy with too large glasses?
It does bring to mind a very funny image. "I TOLD YOU TO CODE IN C++, HOW THE **** DID YOU CONFUSE IT WITH C#. GO DO 10 PUSHUPS, AND IF YOU CANT DO PUSHUPS, TAKE APART YOUR PC AND PUT IT BACK TOGETHER. NOW".
My great uncle was KIA in Peleliu. I think he'd be rolling over in his grave if the beloved Corps was Gooke'd, Slanted, Rice Packed etc. I'm so sorry Uncle Robert. I don't think they learned their lesson after Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
