Cause they are so ingrained into our world and so familiar to us and then you see one like this or you get one charge at you and bite you and you realise because they're animals, you never know what they're going to do they could snap at any second just like people, so there are reasons to be scared of dogs, just like there are to be scared of people.

Think about it like this. A privileged white kid from a good neighborhood who has never seen crime wont be as wary of people as someone from the ghetto.
Also someone who has a dog that doesn't attack people that they are attached to will doubt that a dog could be as viscous as they can sometimes be.

I was bit by a German Sheppard when I was 10 neighbour has resented me ever since because "i was the reason he was put down" and have been petrified of them and the vast majority of dogs that are large enough to cause damage to anyone. Personal experience makes me scared of them and i don't get how other people aren't **** scared of dogs who aren't their own until the dog becomes accustomed to them

super low number of dogs bite i know "Bad owner bad dog" etc. etc. I know They just some scary ass mufukas to me is all

when I was a kid a lot of my friends weren't allowed to visit me because my neighbor had three big dogs that he never put on leashes and they would attack local neighborhood children, one day they attacked another one of the red necks in the trailer parks kids and he had to get 23 stitches so red neck B took an ax chopped em all up and hung their entrails across red neck A's porch.

Those dogs always terrified me as a kid and on two separate occasions they had chased me into a tree and waited all day before leaving, on of those occasions my cat tried to rescue me by running out of hiding and clawing one and was ripped to pieces in front of me in the process. That neighbor tried to get us to pay for the vet bill to get the eye of one of his dogs fixed the next day because sunshine On hindsight a stupid name for such an epic cat but I was 11 and my friend had a black cat named luna and he was a big orange tom cat so I feel like it was fitting. had taken it out

skip forward four years someone's got a pitbull they don't properly leash and it runs and jumps at me and gives me this big ass bite on the shoulder (still got the scar) and holy **** I just ******* pounced, I immediately punched it in the face and kicked it in the stomach and let out a roar I didn't know I was capable of, ever since that I'm no longer afraid of dogs. Still if I didn't become brutally aware that I could kick a dogs ass in a straight fight I would still be pretty freaked out by them today.

That's why whenever I hear people talking **** about how all cats are cowardly and selfish creatures and how dogs are all fluffy guardians of man I always kind of feel like they're ignorant pieces of **** , it doesn't matter what creature you are you're still capable of acts of pure selflessness and acts of pure hate.
