Is there anything worthwhile in Canada that's not close to the US/Canada border?
#71 to #65 - Elemental (07/16/2014) [-]
It's ******* beautiful. Most of the population is in the southern part of the country (Keep in mind it goes REALLY far north) The Northern territories are pretty but there is nothing there and it's cold as tits. There is oil though.

I live in BC and I wouldn't trade it for anything. It'd take about 2 hours 40 minutes get to the border from where I live. Quebec is awesome in it's own right.
Pretty much all the big cities are within 5 hours of the border I think.

Oklahoma's not too bad if you've lived there you're whole life. I'd rather see the Great Plains around me than live in the mountains, only knowing whats 1000 feet around you without seeing a mountain boocking you're view of the sunset

Pic unrelated, just the IG cast
#13 to #11 - followtheworms (07/15/2014) [-]
I moved from the Texas piney woods to the panhandle, and man I like having trees above me. If I can't see the sky, that's ok with me. The plains are a little too open for me.
#14 to #13 - sulfurhexafluoride (07/15/2014) [-]
I like the feeling of living somewhere where I'm able to see all around me; makes me feel not alone
#42 to #14 - Elemental (07/15/2014) [-]
Ever stood on a mountain top? You see a hell of a lot farther.
#16 to #14 - followtheworms (07/15/2014) [-]
But a walk in the woods can be the most peaceful thing you ever done. The plains aren't too bad as long as its like rolling hills. When it's flat as a pancake it sucks.
#17 to #16 - sulfurhexafluoride (07/15/2014) [-]
True, true. I live in central Oklahoma, so I'm not but an hour's drive from either the Wichitas or the giant windfarms

Well there is the Arts Festival every year, the Oklahoma Fair every year, Shakespeare in the Park runs usually from March to September at the Botanical Gardens. There is the Botanical Gardens, we have the 3rd best zoo in the Nation, you have Remington horse races for about 8 months, we have a large amount of cinema such as the Warren Theater, we also have more lakes than anywhere else, each of which has camping sites, there is the Arbuckle mountains, and the Wichita Wildlife, the Exotic Zoo, also the worlds tallest hill, which i think is humerus. I mean **** there is so much to actually do out here, people just don't want to do anything.

On average how many people ask you to visit Oklahoma? Is this possibly a marketing scheme from the Oklahoma Tourist Board? they just randomly contact people and ask them to visit Oklahoma
