No point reading the comments, it's a bunch of "alan turings" solving this complex and challenging task

Yeah, that was pretty predictable

So, are you ******* just going to keep doing basic math and ignore the fact that a 12-yearold has an iPad. The **** does a 12-yearold do with an iPad at school?
User avatar #102 to #39 - slycoop (01/15/2014) [-]
At my school district, they just added Wifi this year. Kids can bring their own devices to do work on sometimes. My sister is in sixth grade and has a cheap Android tablet she brings to school with her.

Uhmm, I'm know this probably isn't the case - but you could write notes on an iPad. Multiple of my fellow Uni students use an iPad and a keyboard. However, this is probably not the case for a 12-year old

At many of the schools around where i live they started giving every student an iPad to work on. And yes, even the kids under 12.

Something we did with a Gameboy at school.

Play games and socialize during class.
User avatar #46 to #45 - thechosentroll (01/15/2014) [-]
Yeah, but you can do that just as effectively on a gameboy or your phone. Is giving a 12-yearold an easily droppable, expensive iPad really a better idea?
#320 to #46 - killerofcows ONLINE (01/16/2014) [-]
In my opinion an Ipad is to expensive to give to an 12 year old, not that I wouldnt give expensive things to my kid, but Ipad is just such a pointless thing at such age

But if I saw a 12 year old kid with Ipad I would think nothing of it, within the last year I know of atleast 3 families that either gave tablets as 5th birthday present or most recently cristmas present for a 4 year old

If you're allowed to take notes on a computer in class, some students probably don't have a laptop, but have an iPad. It's actually pretty easy to type up documents on an iPad, provided you have a keyboard attachment.

If you live in America, the curriculum seems to differ by county and even district. I moved a lot in my boy hood, so I saw a lot of differences between the schools across my state. When I started 6th grade, our math with Pre-Alg in that school. When I moved to another school they were teaching a lot about your basics and fractions in their 6th grade math.
