People really seem to be missing the point here. This issue isn't about Zoe Quinn or the guys she ****** or her ****** game. It's about setting a precedent. If you let the story go, these people will only be encouraged. They'll think it's okay to lie and cheat and censor anyone who disagrees with them using their backroom connections.

If it was just journalists giving good reviews to people they have other relationships with, that would be corrupt and lacking in integrity but not such a big deal. But the fact that the game was greenlit due to their reviews is an entirely other thing. Do you want SJW garbage like Depression Quest to become the new norm for indy games? Cause if we let this go, that's where we're going. More and more pressure will be put on non SJW indy devs until they're drummed straight out of the industry. How long before they start gaining influence in major game publishers? Not long at this rate.

So yeah, if you want video games to go to **** , keep up the apathy.

You are making the mistake of assuming SJW can have that much of an influence. Major publishers dont give a **** about reviews (plus, they have money to buy those reviews) and neither will give a **** about SJW. Besides, there are lots of major game publishers in countries where SJW dont even exist (russia, japan, korea).
Its not going to be the new norm for indy games and it probably never affect large game publishers.

I don't go to Kotaku and whatever websites there are. I find the whole Zoe Quinn thing was blown out of proportion and instad of gettign angry at the magazines/websites I'd just stop reading them. Also it's common knowledge that most game-magazines are already in publishers hands and never actually tell you what is goign on with a certain game. Just stick with people like Totalbiscuit and get your information there.

The problem is mainly that she sabotaged a charity for personal gain, the fact that she rents out her vag for favours is completely irrelevant.

why is everyone still on the little zoe quinn fit was there something i missed that was a bigger deal orrrr....because i dont get what the big deal is...

remember the feminist charity /v/ backed after Zoe had shut it down with slandering and doxxing?
She wanted to do something similar and saw it as attention competition back then.
Some of Zoes supporters had hacked it and shut it down.
That happend a second time today!

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing". -Edmund Burke

She is morally corrupt, w/e, she gives sex and BJs to married men for promotions and good reviews, w/e, but when she exploits the gaming market to force her product (it isn't even a game) to get greenlit, or when she commits fraud to con people out of money, or when she sees competition in a profitless organization and gets a charity fundraiser shut down, or when she attacks a site to help people with anxiety problems? then she is a total bitch and people need to make sure she is put down so that other people don't think it is **** they can get away with.

Does anyone here really still care about this **** ?
(honest question, it doesn't bother me since I on't read game reviews or care about who/what gender/how many people they ****** /their political views
I just like playing games and watching porn)
#2 to #1 - nytor ONLINE (08/25/2014) [-]
I don't really give a **** . People are freaking out about how "it shows the corruption in the video game journalism industry!" but seriously, people... did you not realize the video game journalism industry was corrupt until this? This was just one more blow to a horse that's already been beaten into paste. It's common knowledge that reviewers accept payment for good reviews. They just took sex instead of cash this time.
User avatar #3 to #2 - trostell (08/25/2014) [-]
This really is a case of the Streisand effect. If they had just gone on their merry way about Zoe Quinn and not tried to hush up anyone pointing it out, or had Zoe Quinn not made her first massive **** up trying to pick on Wizardchan, and then accusing everyone else of attacking her, this wouldn't have blown up to these proportions. The more they try to suppress it, the bigger and faster it grows.

I still care. For the past years some SJ agenda is being pushed on all of us, and honestly doing more bad then good for gaming.
So when this whole **** gets outed as being intensely corrupt, and using Social justice as nothing more then an excuse to get outraged over EVERYTHING in a video, for the sole purpose of clickbaiting, I ******* care.

Not to mention presenting us the stupid double standards and how there is a comfy little family who looks out for one and another.
FUN creators used DMCA to censor criticism, gets reported by games press and condemned. One of their own pet devs, Zoe Quinn, does the same thing... nothing.

Not to mention the hilarity that "we wont cover this cause its just speculation"-excuse brings, when these same journalists had no problem with running the "omfg game dev being harrased for being a girl" story with absolutely no proof. TheEscapist even admitted to not fact checking that story, and have retroactively ammended their story to include this fact.
User avatar #5 to #1 - ruinsage (08/25/2014) [-]
Yes, it bothers me that SJW are getting so influential that they can bully game devs into either quitting or following their hypocritical ********

But if you want depression quest to be the new norm for gaming, then go ahead and be a passive piece of ****
#14 to #5 - anon (08/25/2014) [-]
I don't think that would actually happen, maybe highly politically correct games with female African leads that suffer with down syndrome and such but text based games like that will never sell. If text adventures were all that was on the market, America's obesity problem would vanish in a decade. I do fully agree tho, **** political correctness and SJWs, I just don't think depression quest will ever be the norm for the video game industry again.

User avatar #20 to #19 - oodlesandoodles (08/26/2014) [-]
Oh, no reason, really...

Aside from the fact that she's cost several people their jobs, almost cost a charity their company, is, more than likely scamming people into giving her money, lying for pity, and all while hiding behind the social justice shield.
User avatar #21 to #20 - VincentKing ONLINE (08/26/2014) [-]
you forgot the point about how she can also bend the gaming media to her will to make rivals get bad reviews now, and making it possible for others to do this too

User avatar #24 to #23 - oodlesandoodles (08/26/2014) [-]
Oh, it's not. Manipulating audiences and movements for your own gains aren't that big a deal.

All dickery aside, it's important to those who care about gaming. Even more importantly, If she gets away with this, it'll be a message to other developers saying: "Hey, feel free to lie to your fans, they won't do **** about."
User avatar #25 to #24 - priestoftheoldones ONLINE (08/26/2014) [-]
I don't think it's very important, game reviewing isn't a big deal, I bought brink, AND FOUND IT FUN.
User avatar #26 to #25 - oodlesandoodles (08/26/2014) [-]
#1 Game reviewing is a big deal. It doesn't matter if you found a game most critics hated fun. Reviews don't exist to tell you what to buy. They're merely suggestions. "Some of you may not like this for these reasons." If you have multiple reviewers praising a crappy game, you're more likely to buy it at SOME point in time.

#2 The reviews aren't the issue. Did you miss the part about the scheming, scamming, lying, and costing of jobs?
User avatar #27 to #26 - priestoftheoldones ONLINE (08/26/2014) [-]
Yeah, and it doesn't bother me. I don't care about the game reviewing industry. Like I said, I buy a game on my own accord, I see gameplay, and think, "that game looks kinda fun,'' and I might get it. It doesn't matter if a game gets a 10/10, or a 5/10.
User avatar #28 to #27 - oodlesandoodles (08/26/2014) [-]
Ok, you are missing. the. point.

She is a manipulative cunt who is threatening peoples jobs, shutting down a charity that supports women, saying that it oppresses women, among other **** .

how is this a problem? it sets a precedent for other female indie game developers, and if this **** keeps going, it will be harder and harder for them to be taken seriously.

plus, yknow, threatening other peoples jobs.
