Is...is this seriously a thing?

There's been a few instances where the PS4 has crashed while downloading/playing games. Also there was someone who couldn't get the A / V to appear on the screen but Sony has stated that he could be a faulty HDMI cord and not the system itself. All in all not a huge deal, considering there's a 12-month warranty on the console.

It could be a faulty HDMI*

About 0.4% of all PS4s are experiencing problems. Which for a console launch is pretty good, I expect that about the same amount of xbones to have a similar number. Sony is also replacing all the malfunctioning ones for free.

There have been problems with some consoles overheating, bricking, not being able to connect to PSN to download a patch, then not being able to do anything since said patch is required... Which you couldn't download

None of them have bricked...

they haven't bricked but they get red lined which means they overheated so you just have to leave it alone for a while, which is basically temporary bricking

Don't think so, this can be fixed with a update.

Battlefield 4 was running great for me all day.

Now all of a sudden I cant load the game. It instantly crashes every time. Its a pretty big issue

I personally do not have a Playstation 4 yet, I am fully aware of problems with it but I doubt we will see another Xbox360 thing. Doesnt matter how big the problem is, it can be fixed with a firmware update in which I bet they are working on now.
