i have no idea what any of them are saying. Russel definetly sounds like he knows what he is talking about, but i am not quite sure if he is being a genius or a jackass.

Absolutely beautiful. I had no idea he was so intelligent, and everything he said was either spot-on, or damn close.

Good share.

Watching this did get me thinking. The political parties that determine our country are made up of men and woman who have come from law schools. Where are the scientists, the work men, the charity workers, the people that actually make up this country. I do feel it's a problem that the majority are being represented by a seperate minority.

Wait, is he serious?
User avatar #61 to #56 - charliecharmander (01/22/2014) [-]
Why would he not be?
User avatar #63 to #61 - pabloenis (01/23/2014) [-]
I thought it was some sort of sketch/comedy show in the beginning.
User avatar #64 to #63 - charliecharmander (01/23/2014) [-]
No, Brand is a genuine revolutionist. Possibly an anarchist, but I'm not sure. Sometimes he comes off as anarchist, sometimes not.

Though he is part of the anonymous.
User avatar #66 to #64 - pabloenis (01/23/2014) [-]
But has he achieved anything or is he just using his celebrity status to spread his naive ideas?
User avatar #70 to #66 - charliecharmander (01/23/2014) [-]
Surely spreading ones well informed political beliefs is one of the greatest things someone of a high status can do. Certainly he is doing more for the people by speaking for a lot of us than most celebrities who accept fame, money and wealth and adopt an apathetic attitude to politics, as they have money, so why would they care?

And I beg to differ that he is naive.
User avatar #121 to #70 - pabloenis (01/23/2014) [-]
I think he's just pointing out how bad everything is and that everything needs to change. There are no constructive ideas that he has, he just want's the current political system to burn. I can't take these people serious, but because the political systems ARE ****** up, people just grab on to everything that makes a revolutionary impression. But that's not sustainable. We end up just revolutionizing stuff because we're angry and then we're left with nothing, because people like him are just very short sighted. They just point out what they don't like, but they don't have realistic alternatives. He even says that himself. Reminds me of the Joker quote: "You know what I am? I'm a dog chasing cars. I wouldn't know what to do with one if I caught it! I just do things."
User avatar #51 to #32 - secretdestroyers (01/22/2014) [-]
Actually, another good clip of him is an interview on his show Brand X that he does with two members of the Westboro Baptist Church. He's actually quite civil and fair to them in spite of the fact that they're kinda rude to him and his audience was pretty damn close to eating them alive!

I love the joke he made when they brought out a sign for Brand that called him a "Fag Pimp." He's just like "I'm from England and there the term 'fag pimp' just means 'Cigarette?'"
User avatar #52 to #51 - xjvlezmerised (01/22/2014) [-]
ah ive seen that one he gets them stuck in some circular logic and the one guy starts getting rly pissed at the audience
User avatar #41 to #32 - Nullifier (01/22/2014) [-]
That was actually pretty well worded, he's an intelligent guy
#40 to #32 - kisushima (01/22/2014) [-]
To this day this interview still makes me shed a tear or two. Passion like this is what will wake up parts of this apathetic and indifferent nation.
User avatar #42 to #40 - xjvlezmerised (01/22/2014) [-]
you dont have to be a genius to realize what we have right now isnt working very well lol
#46 to #42 - kisushima (01/22/2014) [-]
I didn't say he was a genius. I said he has passion. Wearing a ******* V for Vendetta mask doesn't make you.. It doesn't instill the same sense of passion. Can you not see it in his face? Maybe I'm just seeing what I want to.

But people do have the power to change things I do believe they will. At least, I have faith they might stand up for themselves.
User avatar #48 to #46 - xjvlezmerised (01/22/2014) [-]
ah no i was agreeing with you lol. ive shown this to a bunch of people and i feel he handled the interviewer extremely well
#50 to #48 - kisushima (01/22/2014) [-]
Oh I see what you're saying. I have followed Brand from when he was a circuit comedian; and thought he was absolute ***** . But I then saw this interview:

His line about "Fame; it's not as bad as having cancer, but it can suck but that's all a matter of perspective (paraphrased)" I thought was fantastic. Because you know what, being famous can suck, but I dunno. That night I thought this guy is alright. And from then on I've followed him heavily and I just like him.
User avatar #53 to #50 - xjvlezmerised (01/22/2014) [-]
hes become rather humble lately cus hes so pissed at the state of everything that he honestly dosnt care if hes rich because he comes from being poor and on drugs and sees whats happening to these people
#54 to #53 - kisushima (01/22/2014) [-]
Someone called him out about why doesn't he put his money where his mouth was and he didn't give a wise crack, didn't talk down to him, he just simply said that why would I invest money in something that hasn't been proposed or developed yet. And this is it.

He doesn't claim to want to be a leader, he wants to raise awareness.
User avatar #105 to #54 - savvasp (01/23/2014) [-]
Any chance you can find the source on that?
#113 to #105 - kisushima (01/23/2014) [-]
Took a bit longer to find on his Twitter, was posted Oct. 26 2013! Plus it didn't have 'cash' or 'money' had to use 'give' as a search word ><.
User avatar #55 to #54 - xjvlezmerised (01/22/2014) [-]
well honestly more money isnt going to rly fix the problem it hasnt for decades. so im fine with him not doing that as long as he keeps spreading awareness that's all that rly matters
User avatar #34 to #32 - staticwolf (01/22/2014) [-]
He says nothing in that. He says literally crap all. He weakly names some problems and doesn't pose any solution. He talks about revolution but has no idea what he's on about.

That **** got way too popular for the fact it was literally a man not knowing what he was saying.
User avatar #128 to #34 - pabloenis (01/23/2014) [-]
I feel you bro. Anarchists are idiots and the new generation of hippies.

This must have felt really good to type out for you amigo. I'm glad you got your idea off your chest.
Kindly **** off, but I'm glad you got your 15 minutes of being edgy.

Feel free to expand and tell me exactly what Brand says. Because honestly, he doesn't say anything.
#73 to #67 - hazelnutqt (01/23/2014) [-]
Hi sorry for spamming you but I just want to say that the last one was a mistake and I meant to write forgot to write the essay because I was arguing with somebody on an internet forum about which enchant was better for my druid on a WoW forum real sorry.
Here have another Sheldon picture =)
User avatar #74 to #73 - staticwolf (01/23/2014) [-]
That did confuse me a tad. I just assumed you'd gone hugely offtopic in writing an essay, but had no idea how that related to the internet.

My only point was this: Back when this interview was first posted all over Facebook, everybody loved it but nobody could write down what Russel was saying. This is just it all over again. I'm not looking to argue, I just want people to actually look through the plume of smoke to see the other side.
#77 to #74 - hazelnutqt (01/23/2014) [-]
Yes but that's the point of it all
There is nothing behind the plume of smoke, that's literally the interview friend, don't you see?

Sometimes, there aren't a diamond behind the smoke
Sometimes there's just like a really pretty picture of like idk a dragon in the smoke
I feel like this metaphor is running out, but the thing he is saying, is that he does not feel qualified to solve the political problems, he just feels like he has the right to say that he doesn't support a system that does not represent him
And there was also something about a beard which I agree was majestic.
The picture included is some movies you might want to watch in case you end up lonely one night I know I watched Forrest Gump like 7 times already!

When I was 15 years old I forgot to write an essay because I was writing an essay and my teacher yelled at me and was like "you will be poor" and since then I haven't really enjoyed arguing with people on the internet.
Sorry mate, but feel free to find somebody else to discuss with =)
Pic related, it's Sheldon <3
