Talk **** , get hit.

I'm just confused as to why parents would believe young children over an adult over something as ridiculous as this?
surely they would dismiss it as children's over imagination?
User avatar #78 to #12 - kandazz ONLINE (05/11/2015) [-]
Because only in movies do we not listen to the children.
User avatar #15 to #12 - tosatsu (05/11/2015) [-]
Because people are stupid, and they would rather believe whatever **** their child spews instead of the harsh truth. You, hearing your own child is a pathological liar or a psychopath, must be tough, so you have to be strong in order to sustain and understand things like these.

Well most people are not. So they let things go in through one ear, and out the other. It's called hypocrisy, I guess.

I'm not trying to stereotype or anything but is it more of an american thing to think that their kids are perfect? seems like their thing to overreact (see: "poptart gun")
In My Experience in England, pretty much all parents have enough common sense to see that children lie all the time, and that half of what they say is a result of lies or an overactive imagination, its usually parent 101 to not take anything that a child claims seriously, unless of course there is other evidence (a.k.a: evidence from adults, not other kids, who belive everything they are told)

Yes, indeed, but still, you'll find stupid parents everywhere, though americans seem to take the cake, so to say.

But it's unimportant to us in a way, we need stupid people too, sadly.

Because many parents want to be parents but don't want the responsibilities it comes with, especially when their child is a little **** . I remember growing up, this kid in our school got sent to the office for shoving someone into a locker twice, and they even had footage of him doing it. Showed it to his mom, and she refused to believe that was her "little angel" on the tape. He still got suspended, but a couple weeks later he was back looking as smug as ever, bragging about his two week vacation at home to anyone who would ask. My mother works in elementary, and she is counting the days til she retires, because ***** like this have become quite common.

I agree, my mother is a teacher and when she was in public school she was a fantastic teacher. That was until the Parents and even her fellow teachers said she was old and unable to teach. No they did not say this, they demonized her. She came home from work crying and at the end of her rope. They hounded her, saying her teaching need work or she was not teaching to the box they wanted. Her kids were good, no doubt. She has a Masters in teaching and kicks ass doing it, but they wanted some one cheap and new who would teach to the box with out question. After all, how can you say no when your new and need the employment.

Because to a lot of parents, their children are angels that don't lie.

when the lies grow strong,
and overpower the truth,
with a heavy hand and a sigh,
as the last lights they die,
and the man who once stood,
protection, learning and fun he could,
if not for again and again and again,
the boy who tells mommy is endlessly good,
"how could he lie" they pine and pire,
till im finally fired and filled with desire,
for that boy who had lied had ruined my life,
and myself, i am tired,
need more to retire,
so i killed the small child myself.
#89 to #31 - kapkap (05/12/2015) [-]
am i dumb or did that completely stop riming at the last line?
#92 to #89 - godpoems (05/12/2015) [-]
that was intentional, for some reason it feels like it rhymes but if you revise the poem it does not, this is a trick found in songs mostly but i thought it appropriate due to the heavy didactic punch line

I would love to see this story line turned into a movie or a TV show, preferably starring Edward Norton.
User avatar #25 to #11 - noneckcomics (05/11/2015) [-]
Why? it would just be this cool animation, but stretched over an hour and a half. The only content filling possibilities would be to hear every parent complain...
It would be awful.
User avatar #90 to #25 - albeit ONLINE (05/12/2015) [-]
You don't translate something scene for scene. Look at this video as a summary that has details that can be expanded upon. It would be awesome to see him slowly loosing his **** and becoming more vicious as he convinces himself that this kid ruined his life before he finally snaps. Or you could expand upon it going forward, maybe after he takes Sid and kills him, he discovers that he likes it and craves to do it again, and we see the gradual birth of a serial killer. You put this in the right hands and you could have an amazing movie or series. I just said Edward Norton because the narrator's voice reminds me of his.

There's a great movie called The Hunt that deals with this kind of problem. It illustrates the nightmares of mass hysteria damn well.

I'll never understand why people underestimate the intelligence of children. They damn well know what they're doing. Hell, we were all kids once too, and i remember being a little **** from time to time

Me too, i remeber being a little **** just to prove i was smarter than adults. You're right though, they are smart. I treat my kids like adults, not in the sense I'm their friend but in the sense that they know exactly what I'm saying

Well that escalated at a reasonable pace. The beginning reminded me of when I was a kid and some honeysuckle started growing on a fence at my school. We all went over and started eating the nectar until some teacher came over and told us to stop for no reason. It was gone the next day. Always hated that bitch.
