I wonder how much time burton spends getting the right clothing and accessories and doing his hair and beard behind a mirror to make himself look like an alternative piece of **** that "doesn't cares how he looks"

He could always go crazy and not have his wife and Johnny Depp in it.

I realy like the 3 first batman Movies of the ones Tim burton made. 1 & 2 are clearly better than 3 but 3 isnt bad either. 4 however is pretty ****** . But if memory serves me right Tim burton only realy made the 2 first and was barely involved with the making of the other 2 at all. I Think it is quite unfair that Tim Burton has to take crap for Movies directed by Joel Schumacher.

I love kevin smith as much as the next guy, but kevin smith is a really **** writer
he single handedly ruined one of the coolest batman moments with a single page

I love Tim Burton and all, but I know when he makes crap. His Batman movie is awful. If this next Superman v Batman isn't amazing, then there will still be no good live action Batman movie.

Couldn't care less about Kevin Smith though

It'll be good, from what I've seen all the actors look right at home in their roles, I mean hav you seen Ben as Bruce? Looks ******* tight as hell.

I'm not worried about the acting. (Except for the lady playing Wonder Woman and the fact that they're gonna have Aquaman) I'm worried about the writing and directing. Man Of Steel had a lot of problems but it was still good. Hopefully this new movie will be better.
User avatar #17 to #7 - awyissss (08/21/2014) [-]
Hold up, you're saying the original 1989 batman movie was **** , but Man of Steel was acceptable?

Jesus christ man, how do you back that up?
User avatar #19 to #17 - guardianatreyu ONLINE (08/21/2014) [-]
Also there was a Batman movie in the 60's.
User avatar #18 to #17 - guardianatreyu ONLINE (08/21/2014) [-]
It was good for a Superman movie. There's a lot of flaws sure, but it was good to watch at least.
User avatar #20 to #18 - awyissss (08/21/2014) [-]
OK, I didn't particularly like it, but I can see where you're coming from.

But now the bigger question: why is the original Batman **** ? It was dark, stylish, characters were well fleshed out, the story was interesting, the score was fun to listen to, it had the best batman actor, it basically revolutionized the comic book movie and brought it back to an all time hype. (Followed directly by it's downfall, but let's stay on one movie for now)

I can go on and on; what do you dislike about it?
User avatar #24 to #20 - guardianatreyu ONLINE (08/21/2014) [-]
Harvey Dent is black
Commissioner Gordan is a fat old man
Batman moves around like an action figure
Joker is the one who killed Bruce's parents
Joker is a fat man
Random camera flashes just cause Burton liked the flashing
User avatar #29 to #24 - awyissss (08/21/2014) [-]
Not the focus of the movie, isn't really involved with anything
Again, not really the focus
Mostly because of the rubber mask, but he still kicks ass
what's wrong with the Joker killing the parents? It's a change, but it's a change that creates a new, dramatic connection between batman and joker, something we hadn't seen at the time.
It's Jack ******* Nicholson, he's still ******* terrifying with his evil schemes even if he isn't as physically foreboding.
A flash every once in a while isn't a bad thing if it stays withing it's limits. It creates a sudden sense of tension and can be very effective if done properly.
User avatar #33 to #29 - guardianatreyu ONLINE (08/21/2014) [-]
It's the details that really make a film.
User avatar #35 to #33 - awyissss (08/21/2014) [-]
yeah, but letting little things like that completely ruin a film for you (especially when there is so much good stuff in it) just doesn't make a ton of sense.
User avatar #8 to #7 - holycrapimacupcake (08/21/2014) [-]
From what I've heard from friends who got to see the teaser at Comic-Con it looks like it's going in the right direction, but still, fingers crossed.

Yea I kinda agree. After so many years of nolans batman movies I decided to finally watch TAS since I only ever saw a few as a kid. First episode was the man bat and I remember I thought to myself "wtf this is so unrealistic, batman would never have to deal with that" then I remembered "shieeeeet this is the REAL batman"

Havent looked at nolans movies the same way again. Great action/crime movies. Horrible batman flicks, save for joker and the tumbler. That was ******* awesome

I'm not talking about all 3. I'm only talking about "The Dark Knight" (because I believe judging a movie according to the movies that came before and after it is unfair).
User avatar #14 to #13 - guardianatreyu ONLINE (08/21/2014) [-]
The Dark Knight was okay at best. The other two just suck.

I actually didn't like Heath Ledgers Joker. I liked the concept they were going for but his performance got so annoying. Constantly smacking his tongue and lips. Plus there's Bale's stupid Batman voice. Also the fact the Batman (who's covered in armor) gets shot once by Dent and he suddenly goes down then becomes partially cripple. Dent's death scene was so anti climatic and dumb.
User avatar #22 to #16 - charredenay ONLINE (08/21/2014) [-]
Okay, I won't even address your critique about Heath Ledger's Joker because it sounds like nit-picking. As for to Bale's gravely Bat-voice, he was just following the precedents, both live-action and animated. Finally, when it comes to Batman going down after one shot (which was merely a ploy to get Dent to lower his guard), he wasn't crippled from the bullet wound, he was crippled by the 3-story fall and subsequent foot chase pursued by the police. Even the framing of Dent's death and funeral had their place in the overall story-arc of the movie (see the 'Break into Three' and 'Finale' of Blake Snyder's beats of a heroic journey).
User avatar #25 to #22 - guardianatreyu ONLINE (08/21/2014) [-]
Seems like no one is allowed to say anything bad about Heath Ledger. Batman's voice was never that deep in anything though. Plus you could always understand him in the other media. Sometimes it's impossible to understand Bale.
User avatar #26 to #25 - charredenay ONLINE (08/21/2014) [-]
No, you're allowed to say bad things about his performance, it's just the complaints you chose to voice sounded small and unimportant in the grand scheme of things.
User avatar #27 to #26 - guardianatreyu ONLINE (08/21/2014) [-]
His voice? THAT'S A HUGE PART!
User avatar #28 to #27 - charredenay ONLINE (08/21/2014) [-]
The smacking of the lips and tongue (when it came to Heath Ledger), unless you're trying to say that he should've perfectly mimicked the voice of Mark Hamill perfectly, in which case you're definitely asking for too much.
User avatar #30 to #28 - guardianatreyu ONLINE (08/21/2014) [-]
I'm just saying the smacking was annoying and unnecessary.

#39 to #31 - oneaboveall (08/21/2014) [-]
New things aren't banned from criticism TDK being overrated is a completely valid opinion and Bale putting on that silly voice throughout the movie became humorous near the end.

First one was good, second one was Tim Burton jerkoff which got him fired.
First one was also written by John Hamm and produced by Peter Guber.
Guber brought in Jack Nicholson and production designer (who is a huge comic fan) Anton Furst.
Burton had relatively tight reins on him for the first movie. Only thing he really insisted on and got was who will play Batman.
Then in the second movie, he was the producer. He fired Hamm and Furst, brought in his own script writer (butchered Hamm's idea) and production designer. And we got the movie that nearly killed the Batman franchise.
User avatar #43 - rdangerdash (08/21/2014) [-]
Tim Burton has one or two good movies at best. The rest of his work is just him jacking himself off onto Johnny Depp.

Ever see Big Fish? Amazing Tim Burton movie. I also liked Edward Scissorhands, and The Nightmare Before Christmas (yes I know Tim Burton didn't actually make that, but still).
