yeah, here's the video of the rebel yell.

www.smithsonianmag.com/videos/category/3play_1/what-did-the-rebel-yell-sound-like/

if I saw a bunch of people charging me and I'd heard that noise, I'd be pretty damn scared.

Well they are confederate flags and it was a great marker for their life, they will always remember it all pride, guts, and misery.

just imagine yourself as a union soldier. in a land that was rather foreign to you. it was hot, and diseases run rampant. you've lost friends to disease rebel bullets. the rebels are on their home turf. they are out numbered and undersupplied, but for some reason they keep winning there were no real major rebel losses until gettysburg . you go out into battle, and the union army is just pouring lead onto them. and they just keep coming at you, with that godawful high pitched scream. it doesn't make sense, yet they keep coming, and keep winning.

by modern standards, everyone would have had some super hardcore PTSD from that.

Jack Churchill was known as Mad Jack Churchill and he's somewhat of a personal hero of mine due to his madness.

Once he was on a landing craft nearing Måløy, Norway for Operation Archery, and while the ramps from the landing craft hit the ground, he played 'March of the Cameron Men' on his bagpipes, then throwing a grenade, pulled out his claymore sword and charged onto land.
He later recieved the Military Cross and Bar for his actions during Operation Archery.
He lived till he was 89, and died the 8th of March 1996.

Picture is of Mad Jack Churchill staring down the barrel of a captured Belgian 75 mm field gun.

Not entirely sure. It only said captured, but considering that Germany invaded Belgium and they weren't liberated by the allied forces until late 1944, I'd guess that they 'captured' it during said liberation.

Pretty much. Churchill once took a German soldier hostage at a fort and got the rest to surrender one by one by simply yelling at them a lot. His methodology was basically "If you yell loud enough at a German, he will saw 'jawhol' and comply" or something along those lines.

He was a complete British badass

Apparently when his entire squad was wiped out during one battle, he stood on top of the crater where a grenade had gone off killing them and played "Will Ye No Come Back Again" on his bagpipes.

The Germans thought he was crazy
