It's over-analyzing Disney movies time, everybody!

your ignorance shows a terrible habit of under-analyzing Disney movies. Honestly, if you think something so strong and enduring can simply be taken at face value... Oh my. Perhaps you should wait till you're out of high school before you even try to understand the depth in true art. no, i don't mean this ******* "modern" art

It's not that we must. It's that there are those that enjoy it. Asking if we must do these things is like asking if a sports fan must keep up to date. Long story short, we don't make fun of your hobbies, please return the kindness for ours.

You never know. That's part of the fun. I love reading theories people have come up with, and reading the debates that follow, and I'm sure the people participating do it because they get enjoyment out of it.

I personally think it's a waste of time to try to search cartoons for any deeper messages than are already clearly there. Same with anime, videogames, etc. Most of the time these things are highly commercial and the creators have better things to do than come up with a plot that's as deep and ambiguous as Crime and Punishment.

No, they really don't. Honestly, when you have a formula for your show there is NOTHING better to do than to slip some deeper meanings in there.

I think you're getting mixed "deep" and "deeper there" if your message is so badly integrated into the narrative that it makes it seem like a whole other message takes the stage then you are ******* up. Every great narrative has 3 types of meanings: The personal one characters go through, the in-universe ones that are applicable to the world and society and the ethereal one applicable to us.

I'd bother to cite examples but the only one that comes to mind right now is MLP related so **** me I guess. I'll piss off now.

I don't mind. Cite whatever you like. I'm just unsure how I mixed up "deep" and "deeper". My intention was to state them as possessing a further depth than if they simply made a product by said formula. This the relative statement "deeper" seemed appropriate.

I take it you've written plots for animated shows?

nah, games.

I suppose they were wisdom-filled and packed with hidden messages and deeper meanings, too?

Am I detecting sarcasm?

You were awfully quick to accuse me of being ignorant, being a high schooler, being unable to understand what you consider to be "true art" based on a single joke I made... My suggestion to you is not to make assumptions like that again, because you were wrong in each of them. Oh, and I don't believe you, of course. Judging by your first reply to me, you're not mature at all.

To be ignorant and to possess ignorance are surprisingly different. I didn't say you are generally ignorant, i suggested you possessed ignorance on the subject matter. The high schooler comment was unnecesary and childish and i request forgiveness. If you hadn't gathered i am emotionally involved with this subject. Your joke is rather offensive to those of us who understand that Disney Films (especially the classics) actually explore some rather deep subject matter.

You sir are a hypocrite. You tell me not to make assumptions then you promptly make an assumption about me. I have worked on games, I have written stories, and I know that the more simple the formula is the more depth you sneak into it.
