I don't see the problem, I have a good family, a loving boyfriend and I go to a good school, full of crazy but nice people, yet I was the happiest when my parents let me play WoW when I was 9. It was just endless fun and exploring for hours. I still play but "Woah, a new spell rotation that makes me do 10k more DPS!" is just not the same as "Woah, this place is awesome, there are owls and panthers and huge trees, I've never seen something like that before!" It just... lost it's magic a little.

That is so accurate. I have a lot of friends, I lost my virginity at my 14th to the girl I still think is the only one that is worth to have it, although we broke up long time ago. I didn't have to do any grade twice and I'm now in college, and I didn't like anything else more than Playing WoW. PvE, PvP, with IRL friends, with guilds you get to know better and that accept you in their group. Spending hours and hours, days and days doing dungeons, getting to know other people. Inspect the lore and discover every landscape. That game just had so much to offer. Before I bought WoW, I think I made about 10 free accounts, questing in the night elf begin area as a hunter, over and over. It just felt so cool and getting your first silver coin was like a huge achievement (my first gold coin took way too long). I really enjoyed all those wednesdag afternoons so much. Too bad probably no one will understand if you are not like us. But I feel ya, I feel ya so good. I don't play WoW anymore, exept once a year checking if my wotlk private server acc is not rusty. I stopped at Cataclysm. Just didn't feel like that WoW it used to be anymore. But dat nostalgia. It always hits me in the guts.

10k more broken have the numbers gotten since I left?
User avatar #253 to #193 - syntheticdoll ONLINE (10/03/2013) [-]
Well... really broken. I have 500+k HP and my DPS is around 130k with sometimes 300k burst.
User avatar #258 to #253 - traelos (10/03/2013) [-]
Jesus ******* christ...

I mean just crunching those numbers must be putting a strain on the servers by now.

They really need to drop everything and make a WoW 2 or something, the first one just has too much baggage.
User avatar #259 to #258 - syntheticdoll ONLINE (10/03/2013) [-]
They are planning to squish the numbers, but it's awfully lot of work.

Oh god how I miss my WoW days, I think I still have my first ever toon, haven't played in years, maybe I should try it again, one of my favorite moments was watching the lore unfold in front of me, killing arthas and illidan was just one of the most epic moments ever or whet raiding with that one guild that you all just wanted to have and didn't care about Wipes, exploring a new zone for the first time or experiencing a different class, WoW is a great game nuff said.

Getting lost in the big cities, such as Stormwind and Undercity was my favorite. You just didn't know where to go. Now I'm more concerned on building an arena rating. I miss when I first played. I remember I wouldn't even quest, I would just see how far I could go, dying all the time
#17 to #1 - raidan (10/02/2013) [-]
My first "OMG THIS IS AMAZING" moment in WoW was going to Ironforge for the first time as a level 10 dwarf. I spent hours running around the city and talking to all the NPC's. The only things that have dwarfed that feeling was my first time fighting both Illidan and Arthas. Pic somewhat relevent.

I've been with the same girl for 2 years now.
I have great grades in school.
Im on my Schools AAA Hockey team as starting center.
I've been accepted to all the colleges i've wanted to get
I'm not terribly bad looking.
I work out everyday.
I've lived a happy life from playing pokemon to getting a nissan350z.

The happiest i've ever been were the years 2006-20011. I played runescape with my cousin and two online friends RuneJake22 and Dluigi1 and my cousin who was ironically named Jake. I loved runescape. I loved playing, it was my favorite part of the day across those 5 years. I quit because the game changed too much and all my friends quit playing. Feels bad that I have never been that happy for 2 years because of that.

The best is when you thought you were good so you got all your nice **** , stepped into the wild, and got your **** ****** by a level 76 pure with 99 range and mage and you just see the 45 red damage splash show up on your character and then another and another and as soon as you know it your banked and you log off in a violent rage because you lost everything. Those were the days.

i remember playing rs, i was about 11, ill admit it, i was a litte bitch and i had just gotten full rune and had gotten my first membership, saw a guy with a smithing cape saying he was turning full rune into full dragon for free
i never felt so stupid until after i got done crying over it...

"Trimming rune armor with gold! Turn your regular rune set into rune (g) trimmed!"

definitely haha, ive been playing some rsps's to get the feeling back but idk man, spending 2 days to get from 97-98 str isnt there and theres no fun, i wish i hadnt been banned from the comp for 4 months by my parents, some1 hacked my acc and changed the email, i wish i could go back to my old account

I know what you mean.
I believe I peaked and stopped playing after weeks of alching.
My final stats were like...
99 mage.
83 Constitution
75 attack
99 strength
70 range
46 prayer
something like that.

I loved clan wars and castle wars. I didn't even train like woodcutting and mining and farming for cash i just got my friends **** when they left the game. So say i had 10mil they'd quit and i'd get another 10 mil and someone would quit and so on. But i remember my first mil came from picking flax.

youre right, I don't know all these definitions and things. I just play racing games and Battlefield 3.
#210 to #146 - adu (10/03/2013) [-]
Just to try and be helpful:
MMO = Massively Multiplayer Online
RPG = Role-Playing Game (literal definition is too broad, but it basically means DnD-style games with stats and leveling)
FPS = First Person Shooter
Platformer = Typically 2-dimensional with lots of precision jumping involved
Indie = Developed by a small team with a low budget, aspiring artists in a way.

Those are the most commonly used terms as far as genres go, and genres can often times be mixed with each other, like MMOFPS or RPG Platformer, etc.

Especially that one part of Skyrim where it's part of the main quest to find the Elder Scroll. I think it's called Blackreach, where you're underground and the muschrooms are weird and the ceiling is glowing.

actually I work while going to school full time (although only 1 day a week now because I dont have time, in the summer I work more); my parents matched me 50/50 for the price of the car (only because they said it was a high school graduation+birthday present) and I bought the motorcycle this summer with my own money after working 3 days a week.
#85 to #33 - Nameloc (10/03/2013) [-]

At the age of 13, I had to purchase everything I own by my own means. (Whether it be going door to door and asking if they would like me to mow their lawn for $10 or dogsitting.)

At 15, I had to start buying my own birthday/ Christmas presents so it at least looked like I had a great birthday/ Christmas and actually received gifts.
When I got a job at 15, it wasn't just for me, it was to support my family. Whether my parents needed the money to buy food or if my sister needed the money to help her dying dog or to catch up on rent.

I couldn't care less that you have a job.
The fact that your parents even buy you gifts or give you money is more than what most people could ask for.

I'm sorry, but I really can't emphasize/ relate with you at all.
Playing games is nice, sure. Although it just sounds like you're really taking for granted of the things you've experienced and with the things you have.
User avatar #88 to #85 - swimmingprodigy (10/03/2013) [-]
I can't relate to your situation either. I admire you for going above and beyond the expectations of a normal 13 or 15 year old kid to help you family. I simply said that to defend someone calling me a rich spoiled brat because I don't think that I am. It's not my fault that I wasn't put into a situation where I have to work as hard as you just to make ends meet and I don't think I should be called spoiled just because of that.

Maybe you are right about how I don't fully appreciate the things I have. I guess that by now I've gotten so used to them that I don't think what life would be like without them.
#90 to #88 - Nameloc (10/03/2013) [-]
True, but I'm just saying that people like me would care less about a game experience when they have everything else to look forward to/ be happy about.

To be honest, anytime I see people who take things for granted, it kinda sickens me.
At my job, there's kids who don't cash their paychecks because they know their parents will buy the things they want.
One co-worker had her dad to buy her an iPhone 5, outside of a contract, because the new $150 stereo she had installed in her car only worked for iPhones.

One time my boss was shocked that I had picked up a second job, and literally asked me "Is it for the money?"

Sorry if I come off as mean/ angry; You don't sound like a spoiled brat, although your situation is pretty damn nice.
User avatar #92 to #90 - swimmingprodigy (10/03/2013) [-]
I dont deny that my situation is pretty damn nice for a second; I know how good I have it and how I could be off a LOT worse. I was just trying to justify how I don't freeload off my parents and I'm one of the few kids these days who works for the things they want.

i get it, i do. you can have all this stuff, all these things and this amazing life as it would seem to people on the outside but sometimes it just doesn't do it for ya. i have a fairly good life i'd say but my best memories are that of walking with my friends and hanging out, playing gamecube or N64 or playstation. watching movies and staying up late and then ******* around. we didn't have phones or computers but we had each other, and that's all we ******* needed. your friends are so much more important then technology but in this day and age we're losing that sentiment. and don't get me wrong i remember playing saints row 2 for days when i first got it and holy **** was it awesome, same with oblivion. but what i'm saying is money and stuff can only do so much.

all the money in the world won't stop you from feelings lonely or lost. it won't fill a hole in your heart. it won't make you understand why the world is the way it is or help with your confusion on life issues. being told that you shouldn't feel bad because other people have it worse is a ******* stupid saying. that's like saying "well there are people out there who have it better so why be happy?" yeah **** that noise, doesn't make sense.

oh and to all you cunts calling him spoiled, **** you. he could have worked his ass off to get all of the things he has but because you thrive on this anger, this desire to hate people and you feed this superiority complex and act all condescending to people you know nothing about, you fedora wearing faggots don't know **** so go **** yourselves. god damn cunts

Good on you man. I miss having 4 or 5 friends sleep over to just prank each other and game out. Me and the boys walked everywhere even though getting anywhere took at least an hour, but the missions to get junk food and weed were just good times. Now my ex best friend has a ******* kid with MY ex girlfriend, my other buddy is a rapper, ones a personal trainer, and the last moved away. Thing's change and I hate it.

Most fun I've ever had in my life was the first day I met my girlfriend. We spent the entire day playing Halo 2 and eating junk food while we laughed and finished it off with cuddling while we watched Emperor's New Groove.

That's pretty much how it went with my exboyfriend, except with Halo 2 and Army of Darkness. Urghghghrhgrhghgrhg

Skyrim is an amazing game, and I'm one of the biggest Elder Scrolls nerds I know, but... the girl I love for over 2.5 years, long distance... first time we met in person, one year after we got together, THAT was the happiest moment of my life, and nothing I have ever experienced since has come close. The exception being the second time we met, which was 99% as good.

This just reminded me. When I watched the 8th ovie, it was not a really big deal for me anymore, but I still remember watching the first one, I was a small kid and I didn't really know what was it about but I was sitting next to my parents who watched it while I was colouring and sometimes looked up to see what was going on.

I read the books, and as I got to the last, and finished it, it felt like a massive part of my life had just ended... I grew up with those stories, my mom reading out loud the first book to me and my little brother, and then eventually reading them all myself...

I even avoided watching the last movie just so I would still have that left... My weird way to keep something alive... I did however watch it after a while... After which I just sat there... with nothing particular on my mind other than comprehending that now it was truly over... I didn't think I would care, I thought I had grown past that series at the time... It wasn't untill after I realised I had subconsciously avoided it...

When I heard they were making more movies though I was ecstatic.
