"For anyone who cares" Who doesn't care? ******* hell that's an ass and a half (not really, that would mean there were like 3 butt cheeks and that'd be kinda gross)
while stupid, the point of "skimpy" armor is to empathise agility, dodge and speed versus the full plate, which while more protecting would weigh so much that most women would not be able to fight in it
the fact that it got the little protection it offers in all the wrong areas is a different thing so does most people seem oblivious to the original intentions of it
Oh, shut it. There's a reason why people wore armour as heavy as they could manage back in ye olden days- you stood little chance of dodging anything because arms and swords move faster than your entire body can.
It makes no sense, it's useless practically, there are plenty of games where twiglet people can wear heavy iron armour for months on end without ill effect. Who cares.
Actually most people, regular soldiers, only wore chainmail. Heavy plate armor was reserved for the very wealthy as it was extremely expensive and was generally only worn by knights.
even chainmail was expesive as **** . Also you could arm an entire squad for the cost of a quiver of longbow arrows. Also longbowmen were the buffest mofos in medieval europe.
You're just being a prick at this point and ignoring willing suspension of disbelief for the setting type. That's like saying in a fantasy setting with magic. Magic is retarded because its inefficient and people don't use ideal attacks. Plus often in such a fantasy setting armor is essentially useless with supernatural strength/endurance, magical equipment whether armor or weapon standard armor won't help, elites (just take basically any hero protagonist specific example Gutts from Berserk). Furthermore the only time you will see skimpy armors is when it's a character which will do a lot of traveling. A complete set of armor would be a nightmare to travel in and wear constantly.
Yeah but if the dudes are all wearing armour that is bigger, bulkier and stronger looking that IRL armour and the chicks are wearing something that looks like it came out of a victoria's secret catalogue then there's no justifying it.
I'm pretty sure TERA also has skimpy-ass armour for men so they get a free pass on that one.
I like it/don't mind it, but trying to say that it fits into the game's themes/lore/whatever is some ******** and you know it
Is it justified then people wielding insane weapons that would never be practical (Cloud's buster sword, Gutt's Dragonslayer, Zabuza's sword, etc...) should be held to the same standard, but people still are fine with that following the rule of cool. Of course you could argue that everything is exaggerated in such settings, including the differences in strength between men and women, and so the disparity between light and heavy armor is extremely misrepresented. You could argue that the extreme heavy armor is just as misrepresented in the setting as the skimpy porno armor. You could argue the porno armor is useless. What you can't do is declare something without considering the opposite side of the argument. It's fine to say you don't believe it should be used. I personally believe that as well leather armor is better in such a setting as well, but just because something is added for fans doesn't mean it doesn't have a place in the universe (example being BFS again).
The reason we consider boys to be men at 21 is because at 21 was when you got your first set of real armor. Thats when you stop growing and could handle the weight.
if you wanted to emphasize agility, then you would be better off wearing full body thick leather rather than litterally skin and heavy plate on only certain areas. hell, the heavy plate practically cancels it out anyway...how does someone come to that conclusion?
1. It doesn't offer any more agility than wearing thin leather or quilted cloth, espescially since you're going to have the worlds worst wedgie while fighting
2. It doesn't offer more protection than wearing thing leather of quilted cloth, espescially since the metal only protects from thrusts, redirected the thrust away from vital organs and into other vital organs.
3. Watching any form of sparring tells you that men and women can be agile af wearing fencing gear, and that's more protection than she's got, combined with the above points
the point is wrong, the armor is still stupid, and the original intentions could be better done in a less stupid fashion.
Women could totally fight in plate armor. It's not that heavy. And if it is you could go chainmail. And if you were going for agility, there's leather armor that can do that and give adequate protection. Skimpy armor is just for boners.
Warrior within was my favorite too. Why many don't think it is the best one is because it didn't have that many good puzzle parts which the first game offered. If they would have put in more of those the game would have been amazing.
The island where the game takes place is little bit lacking too imo. Going between the two towers was kinda boring. When you get to the Mask of the Wraith part the game gets good.
Boss fights were nice and pretty hard I liked them. Fighting Dahaka at the alternative ending was one of the hardest boss fights I remember playing. The creatures in the game went very well with the theme and were really neat looking also. Regular combat in the game was pretty much button smash mixed with cool acrobatics didn't mind that tho.
Camera man's like:
"mmmhm, yeah zoom in on da booty...
Oh **** ! mine's on screen!
Pan up, pan up, pan up!
But not to fast and panicky as to not look guilty.
Act like a pro.
Yeah, nobody noticed that, did they?"
Actually, lest I'm mistaken, in that one Prince of Persia game, Warrior Within, from which she is cosplaying the bad/maybe-not-bad (didn't play it all the way through because it's **** ) lead female, When she is first introduced, she's introduced with an ass-shot that slowly pans up, in which case the camera man cleverly reproduced the intro sequence.
I understand that you really don't need justification for sexy armor. If the armor is sexy, it's meant to be sexy. So what?
Well, personally it's not my taste. imho modest is hottest. When you're showing a butt-ton of skin, it leaves nothing to the imagination. And the imagination creates a perfect image, an image that is not seen at first glance. When you expose your entire body, it exposes all the flaws that can't be overwritten by the mind.
Don't get me wrong, a woman wearing a niqab is the opposite of sexy, but a woman wearing only a couple strings to be perfectly honest looks kind of disgusting.
Shanoa from Castlevania: OOE is a good balance. She has shoulders and hip showing and the rest of the delicious bits are left up to our imagination.
Agreed, I prefer armor that just "hint" the skin underneath, like it can show some sexy parts like belly and thighs but not everything like tits and ass and pretty much a plate bikini.
<- tis is my "borderline", it's sexy and shows skin but i can still imagine a mage wearing this because it has relatively decent armor.
Also mage armors tend to be skimpier because they usually don't go face-to-face like warriors. Warrior armor should be covering because it constantly has to stop weapon blows, mages have their own ways for that.
Fire emblem has always been one of the best series for sensible armor design
The outfits make sense for the classes.
Tharja's armor probably is the most (besides the rabbit people, but they still wore plate, they just wore nothing under it) unpractical. The only reason I give it a pass is because
1)she lives in the desert, the light design makes sense
2) the culture she lives in and the dark mage/shaman design seems to be based on those in egytian culture.
