This makes introverts look like complicated machines, rather than people. But it's quite true, actually.

Introverts and extroverts are natural enemies.
Like introverts and ambiverts, or introverts and social media, or introverts and cell phones.
Or introverts and other introverts... Damn introverts! They ruined the introversion!

All of the above is true. If you feel they are comfortable, gently stroke your introvert's fur until they are used to your hand. When they are, try picking them up! They might be skittish at first, but introverts like love and attention as much as the rest of us. Try giving them a little lettuce, red pepper, or timothy hay to reinforce that you mean them no harm. If your introvert becomes agitated, it's probably time to return them to their cage.

I'm not an introvert. I'm just surrounded by assholes. Always take a look at your surroundings before deciding to call yourself an introvert, antisocial, depressed or some other **** . Sometimes you're not the only problem.
#32 - holyturkey (11/03/2013) [-]
right, i understand some people are introverts and that is perfectly fine but not every single ******* person on funnyjunk is an introvert purely because they sit on the computer rather than go to parties, or they enjoy gaming alot and see themselves as unique and misunderstood genius's, some people will not only join a bandwagon but clutch onto that ************ like it's a security blanket.
User avatar #54 - srskate (11/03/2013) [-]
If one requires a guide for interaction, that one is probably not worth interacting with.
#64 to #54 - deletedmyaccount (11/03/2013) [-]
If this is news to you at all, you shouldn't be allowed to interact with people.

This is actually how you should treat most people you aren't close with. Polite, relaxed, not pushing...it's all there.
User avatar #65 to #64 - srskate (11/03/2013) [-]
I never said this was news.

I guess I just don't want to know the type of person that feels they need to write a guide for talking to them. Anyone who is that self-important isn't worth my time.
#68 to #65 - deletedmyaccount (11/03/2013) [-]
Eh. A lot of people tend to be pushy with introverts. Many think a lack of interaction is a sign of loneliness or depression, and try to pressure them into going out and doing things. It's not a bad thing, but some people are just happier being left alone a good amount of the time. I think this is just meant to raise awareness on that, more than "this is how everyone should treat me, and if you don't you are really stupid."
User avatar #70 to #68 - srskate (11/03/2013) [-]
Yeah, i don't know about all that jazz in the beginning, but that last part

"This is how everyone should treat me, and if you don't you are really stupid."
^That's the part I find annoying. Interaction isn't a one way street, and you don't define all the rules yourself.
User avatar #17 - icameheretotroll (11/03/2013) [-]
This is true but sometimes introverts need company too, although a really small one
#92 - anon (11/03/2013) [-]
what this post is badly trying to explain is that introverts dont want you to be up in their space and hanging out with people all the time. they enjoy being alone or being with someone and not talking to them. _ they dont need constant social interaction._
User avatar #44 - diddledot ONLINE (11/03/2013) [-]
Eh... I would call myself an introvert. I'm not shy, I would just rather listen to a conversation than take part in it. One thing I can't stand is having a pointless conversation, aka small talk. I mean, neither party really benefits from small talk and they usually end up finding it to be awkward (in my experience and observations anyways). That's probably the biggest thing that drains my energy in social interactions.

INFJ. Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, Judging.

I've had to take different versions of this so many times. Depending on where I was I'd get ENFJ instead (I took it while I was on a robotics team, acting in a leadership role)...but lately it's always been INFJ. And I don't think it's because I know the test, since they've always been different, or spaced out. I think overall, I'm INFJ, but when I'm put in a position where I'm acting as a leader, I can be more outgoing and extroverted.
User avatar #152 to #149 - jackmanagan ONLINE (11/03/2013) [-]
nice.
intp are loners, but im a great leader. had to look after 40 people for a few months at job corps. very draining like the comic says lol
#156 to #152 - insipidink (11/03/2013) [-]
Well, what I've learned as a psych major is that it's on a continuum, so in some situations you may be more extroverted, however overall you tend to be more of one than you are the other. So, I can definitely see why it was draining for you. Being in a leadership position in one of the clubs I'm currently in at my college is so draining for me...especially when they insist on long meetings that are pointless.

I don't like these kinds of comics.

I'm sure I'm introvert, but I can (usually) handle social interaction. I don't think there's any of this "energy." I just do what I want, which is usually being to myself, but when I want to talk, I want to talk.
User avatar #99 to #88 - jasytis (11/03/2013) [-]
I believe this applies to me too.
#124 to #88 - vorrundenaus (11/03/2013) [-]
Yeah the thing this comic does wrong is make introverts seem like they cant handle any social interactions which isn't true but there really is an "energy" factor involved extroverts tend to feed off of situations they get really hyped when someone says let's go bowling and when they are sitting around alone they tend to be almost lethargic or depressed in a sense. Introverts on the other hand normally have to decide for themselves to do anything to be truly hyped about it. For example if you are in a group working on a project extroverts are the ones who will get a lot done if everyone else is working or they wont get anything done if no one is working. Introverts on the other hand may seem like they are zoned out but if they decide in their own in their heads that they want to get this project done they will get that ******* project done fast.
Basically introverts have their own gas tanks while extroverts all have this giant massive shared gas tank.

The comic is exaggerating for comedic purposes. You should just act respectful and considerate towards and around introverts. Y'know, just like the way you should act around everyone.
However, if you WANT to make friends with an Introvert, you can follow "the steps" in this comic, they MIGHT help. On the other hand, if the person still is rejecting you, it might be that he/she plain dont wants to be your friend.
Also, of course Introverts will try to make efforts to become your or someone elses friend, its just harder for them.
You seem to think that introverts are just ******* who want special treatment, but its not like that. They didnt choose to be weird appearing creatures who are having a hard time to socialize. That **** aint funny.

sorry for bad english

some people just don't understand introverted people and mistakenly think we are mean or rude. The main purpose for this is to educate people so that they know they shouldn't take not being a social butterfly as an insult, I think.
