the most hellish place on earth, the magic roundabout, Swindon UK
User avatar #88 to #10 - malcolmcz (09/12/2015) [-]
what in the hell is this ?!
User avatar #94 to #88 - KillinTime (09/12/2015) [-]
basically 5 roundabouts did a fusion and became one ultra giga roundabout.
#90 to #10 - anon (09/12/2015) [-]
See Swindon mentioned, swell with fukin pride m8

side note, it was partially because of the magic roundabout and its similarity to the teacup ride that Swindon is partnered with disney world
User avatar #64 to #10 - gragasvlad ONLINE (09/12/2015) [-]
I don't think that you can still count that abomination as a roundabout
User avatar #13 to #10 - letmethink ONLINE (09/11/2015) [-]
If I saw something like that I would instantly give up, park my car on the grass and walk the rest of my trip. However, I have my driving license for less than a year now and I barely drive (no need to), so it could be because of that.
#22 to #13 - mollike (09/11/2015) [-]
It's actually quite simple to understand
User avatar #27 to #22 - letmethink ONLINE (09/11/2015) [-]
Understanding is not the problem. I understand how it works and how I should drive. Dealing with the situation and others is what counts (and that's the part I would freak out about). Like I said, I have my license, just not a lot of experience with driving on my own.
#53 to #22 - comradewinter (09/12/2015) [-]
From an overhead angle with no cars, all the time in the world to think, and no pressure? Maybe. Actually sitting inside a vehicle and having traffic around you? Difficult.
#98 to #53 - mollike (09/12/2015) [-]
well I am sorry you haven't been on a roundabout
#99 to #98 - comradewinter (09/12/2015) [-]
It has multiple roundabouts within the roundabout. And you don't even see if it's a roundabout from the driver's perspective.
#100 to #99 - mollike (09/12/2015) [-]
sorry traffic is easy for me then
#58 to #53 - anon (09/12/2015) [-]
lads I had to take the class 2 exam there..It is quite simple because there are only 4 four exits to use (one is a dead end) you simply have to stay in the middle lane till the end and then go on the right lane for the exit
#60 to #58 - comradewinter (09/12/2015) [-]
You're assuming you already know the layout of the system, which a driver won't upon approaching it.

I'm right there with you. It REALLY doesn't seem like that bridge would be able to support a plane of that size.

Don't forget the "Three gorges dam" in China It's 2.3 km long, 27 million cubic tonnes of concrete, 463,000 tonnes of steel (enough to build 63 eiffel towers),it took over 40 000 workers 17 years to build and it produces twice as much power as all nuclear powerplants in Britain put together
User avatar #19 to #18 - jonto (09/11/2015) [-]
should probably have mentioned (so it is more relevant i guess) that it has sluices for boat traffic and an elevator for boats that takes them 600 feet up top or down.
User avatar #45 to #18 - imnotawesome (09/12/2015) [-]
it's also so big that the mass of the water behind the dam has caused the rotation of the earth to slow.

I am aware that it doesn't work like that

Houston Mentioned swell with constant expansions which end up being useless.
Also could we of just installed a monorail instead of that ugly ass metro rail which takes up a driving lane?? No one uses public transportation outside of Downtown and the Med center anyway.

useless like the widening of I-45 which is just causing more traffic then it will probably help

I remember the few times I've been to Houston. I hated it every single ******* time. Houston is so disgusting and ugly. Growing up I thought Dallas (where I'm from) was bad, but it has nothing on the urban sprawl that is Houston.

Y'all need to tighten your zoning laws

>Minneapolis Skyway
Yet our tram system, sucks worse then the smell of the mississippi river.
User avatar #56 to #39 - IamWhoIam (09/12/2015) [-]
God the light rail is just awful to deal with whenever I drive Downtown, or whenever I drive near University. I will outright avoid those areas when I'm driving. It is useful to get into the city if you don't want to drive all the way in from the South Metro which is where I live in the summer.

Also homeless people populate the Skyway in the winter.
