I haven't watched anything of the second season, but after they declared themselves a separate nation, I just kept hoping that they'd all realize what a terrible mistake they had made. Seriously, how have they not run out of electricity? Surely the sun was their power source before.

I didn't get this series after I got to the stupid rape. IT seemed like something that was a bit forced in and unnecessary. It sort of shied me away from the series and I was already getting a bit bored from the general repetitiveness of all of the battles.

The point of the rape was that Pino, the Valvrave's computer system and "soul", was trying to learn more about humanity and wanted to know what sex felt like. She took over Haruto's body and used it to rape the pilot of unit 4. Now that season 2 has started and all of the pilots have been introduced, the series is starting to get much more interesting. This is probably a bit biased though, I'm just a huge mecha fan in general. I started with Gundam Wing and then moved on to watch everything from Robotech and Macross to Big O and every other Gundam series. Honestly, compared to some mecha series, Valvrave is excellent and it's getting better too.

I was very good but the distancing and plot twists were getting very annoying for me, the problem with mecha anime for me is the story has to be really good or it's just too repetitive, Gurren Lagann did it for me until the very last episode when things made me mad.

Code Geauss was probably the best mecha genre anime

I also don't think this one is all that bad, but it annoys me how easily the super advanced robots overheat and I hate animes with sissy bitch protagonists.

I was not a huge fan of Gurren Lagann. Too much magical ridiculousness.
